00:00In the town of Avon, where the sun dipped below the horizon every day at precisely for 13 p.m. and never set, lived a boy named Kieran.
00:10Kieran wasn't any ordinary boy. He was the clockwork boy.
00:14A moniker given to him by the townsfolk because of the clockwork bird that chirped merrily atop.
00:20His head like a cuckoo clock gone wrong.
00:23You see, Kieran was born with a clockwork bird permanently attached to his head.
00:29It couldn't be removed without dismantling his entire nervous system, an operation that would surely kill him.
00:35So it stayed, ticking and tucking away the seconds of his life.
00:40Every day, Kieran would wind up his mechanical companion before sunrise, a ritual that became his sole purpose in life.
00:50But one day, when he wound up his friend, the bird began to flap its wings erratically,
00:56its gears grinding against each other with a horrible screeching sound.
01:01Panicked, Kieran rushed to the town's one and only mechanic, an old man whose surname was ironically.
01:07Cogsworth examined the bird and after a minute of silence, announced that the bird had become sentient.
01:12Having heard the grandfather clock in the town square chime midnight too many times, sentient or not,
01:18the bird had to be dismantled.
01:20So with a somber heart, Kieran did as Cogsworth instructed.
01:24As the last of the sunlight faded from the sky, Kieran laid in the old man's workshop.
01:29His head split open like a bad case of mono.
01:32Suddenly, the clockwork bird perched itself on Cogsworth's shoulder and chirped once.
01:37Then it flew off into the darkening sky, its metallic wings glinting in the last rays of daylight.
01:43Filled with a strange sense of purpose, Kieran stumbled out of the workshop and into the twilight.
01:49Following the bird, they flew over fields of sunflowers that drooped their heads in the evening light.
01:55Past a babbling brook!
01:57And finally, to an old gnawed oak tree.
02:00The bird landed on a low-hanging branch and chirped twice, then thrifed.
02:04As if in answer, a door in the tree opened and a woman stepped out!
02:08She wore a dress that rustled like autumn leaves and her hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall.
02:15Are you the one they call the clockwork boy, she asked?
02:18Kieran could only nod.
02:20Then come with me, she said, holding out her hand.
02:23I have something that belongs to you!
02:26She led him through the door in the tree and into a magnificent clock tower.
02:30Its walls were lined with gears of all shapes and sizes.
02:33And in the center stood a gigantic clock face, the hands of which were frozen in place.
02:39This is the heart of Avum, the woman said.
02:42And this, she gestured to the clock, is the stolen symphony of time.
02:48Kieran felt a jolt of recognition.
02:50This was the melody that his clockwork bird had been trying to tell him about.
02:54But how was it connected to him?
02:56The woman explained that long ago, the symphony of time had been wound up by the very first human,
03:01a being of pure energy who created Avum and all of its inhabitants.
03:05When he wound the clock, he imbued it with his essence,
03:08allowing it to control the very flow of time within the town.
03:11But one day a thief came to Avum, stole the clock's music box, and hid it away,
03:16plunging the town into eternal twilight.
03:19Only someone born under the light of the full moon with a heart full of mechanical wonders
03:24could retrieve the symphony of time.
03:27And now that someone was here, Kieran, the woman, handed him a tiny key.
03:32Use this to unlock the box and return the symphony to the clock, she said.
03:37Taking a deep breath, Kieran walked toward the massive clock and inserted the key into its keyhole.
03:42As the melody began to spin, the clock's hand started to move, its pendulum swinging in time with the notes.
03:50Suddenly, the window behind him burst open and a dark figure leaped through.
03:56It was the thief all grown up, his eyes burning with an otherworldly light.
04:00He lunged for Kieran, knocking the key from his grasp.
04:04But just as he thought he'd won, the clock chimed midnight, its bells echoing through the tower.
04:10The thief screamed in agony, his form flickering like a candle in the wind.
04:15With a final screech, he vanished in the dust.
04:18Now free from the clutches of the symphony of time, Kieran carefully wound it back into the clock,
04:25completing the ritual that had been his destiny since birth.
04:28As the last note faded away, the sky outside the window began to lighten,
04:33the sun returning to Avon after what felt like forever.
04:36And so the town of Avon went back to normal, or as normal as it could be with a giant clock tower in the middle of it.
04:44Kieran continued to live there, happy to have fulfilled his destiny,
04:47though he often wondered if there were other places in the world where time flowed as freely as it did in Avon.
04:53The End
05:00Bye.
05:03Okay.
05:05What about that?
05:09Allですか?
