KMT Mobilizes Senior Figures for Anti-Recall Rallies Over Weekend

With only two weeks until historic lawmaker recall votes, both the pro- and anti-recall camps mobilized over the weekend to rally people to their cause. The main opposition Kuomintang, which has two dozen lawmakers are at risk of losing their seats, brought together party heavyweights for a major rally.

00:16Standing alongside Li are legislative speaker Han Guo Yu, party chair Eric Zhu, and Taichung City Mayor Lu Xiuyan.

00:27She's a rising star in the KMT, and over the weekend, she was called upon to rally for six lawmakers in three cities,

00:35all of them facing recall votes.

00:47The smaller Taiwan People's Party also stood with the KMT over the weekend,

00:52saying that the anti-recall movement symbolized justice for its former party chair and previous Taipei Mayor Ke Wenze,

00:59who is currently on trial for corruption.
