00:00As typhoon Bising and the Habagat brought heavy rains to parts of Luzon and Mindanao,
00:06hundreds of families were forced to take shelter in evacuation centers.
00:09While most have now returned home, the Department of Social Welfare and Development assures
00:14continued support through food packs, aid and monitoring, as Blue Alert remains in effect
00:19in northern Luzon and Calabarzon.
00:22Floyd Brenz tells us more.
00:23Several families in central Luzon and Zamboanga have been affected by the recent weather disturbance
00:31and the southwest monsoon.
00:32As a result, they had to temporarily stay in evacuation centers of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD.
00:41However, according to the agency, most evacuees have now returned to their homes.
00:46Based on DSWD data, only 104 families remain in evacuation centers
00:51across the National Capital Region, Region 3, and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
01:03The DSWD also said that families who have returned home will not go hungry
01:08as they have received pabaon assistance, family food packs intended for returning evacuees.
01:14Despite this development, northern Luzon and Calabarzon remain under Blue Alert
01:18due to the continued intense weather conditions.
01:39The DSWD also stated that while no evacuees have so far required psychosocial assistance,
01:46the agency is prepared to provide if it's needed.
01:49For now, the DSWD is prioritizing the provision of food and essential supplies to affected individuals.
02:07pupunta ang ating social workers to conduct psychosocial first aid.
02:11To date, the DSWD has distributed over 8.5 million worth of assistance
02:16to those affected by Typhoon Bising and Southwest Monsoon in NCR,
02:22Regions 1, 2, 3, Calabar Zone, and Cordillera.
