National No. 1 women's double shuttlers Perlitan and Mthina
00:05
will continue to don the national jersey until the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
00:12
They signed a new four-year contract with the Badminton Association of Malaysia on Thursday evening.
00:19
At 6.31pm today.
00:21
I signed today but effective day too is something that I cannot disclose.
00:26
Again, I can't share the amount.
00:30
Unless it is enough.
00:32
Hopefully, can you?
00:35
Yeah, I mean, it's not either parties to prolong the four contracts
00:40
just because our tournament was already back to back and all.
00:43
But we are really relieved that everything has come to an agreement.
00:49
The World No. 3 pair, whose contract with BAM ended in December last year,
00:55
finally agreed to the New Deal after months of negotiations for better perks
00:59
incentives and salaries.
01:01
The pair and BAM President Tunku Datuk Sri Zafrul Abdul Aziz made the announcement in a press conference
01:08
soon after both parties inked the agreement.
01:11
Perlitan will be evaluated based on key performance indicators and any additional incentives will depend on their results.
01:21
They will take part in back-to-back tournaments this month, starting with the Japan Open from July 15th to 20th,
01:27
followed by the China Open and the World Championships in Paris.
01:31
Reports said that the pair had agreed to remain with the national team, despite their original demands not being fully met.
01:38
It is believed that they had initially requested a salary of over one million ringgit, but BAM remained firm during negotiations.
01:47
Lights out.
