All 31 workers trapped in an 18-foot-wide industrial tunnel were safely rescued after it collapsed in Wilmington, Los Angeles, USA on Wednesday (July 9).

00:00All 31 workers trapped in an 18-foot-wide industrial tunnel were safely rescued after
00:08it collapsed in the Wilmington area of Los Angeles on Wednesday.
00:13The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that no one was missing following a large-scale
00:17emergency response that involved over 100 rescue personnel.
00:24What started out as a very frightening evening, I know when we raced down here, I was so
00:29concerned that we were going to find tragedy.
00:33Instead what we found was victory.
00:36All of the men that were in that tunnel rescued up safe.
00:41We spoke with the paramedics while the paramedics examined the men as they came up.
00:46And I just have to tell you that we're all blessed today in Los Angeles.
00:50No one injured, everyone's safe, and I am feeling very, very good that this is a great
00:58outcome and what started as a very scary evening.
01:02Authorities have halted construction indefinitely while an investigation is conducted to determine
01:06the cause of the collapse.
01:08The tunnel was part of a city infrastructure project aimed at transporting treated wastewater
01:13to the ocean, replacing two older tunnels that have been in operation since the 1930s.
