Palace seeks expanded probe into missing 'sabungeros' over links to Duterte drug war  Malacañang on July 9, 2025 calls for an 'expanded' investigation into the case of the disappearance of sabungeros (cockfighting aficionados) linked to online and illegal cockfighting. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro issued the statement after Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said that individuals tagged in the case were also involved in the drug war during the Duterte administration. 'If that's what's seen in the investigation, there's a need to extend the probe as it seems the crimes were connected if proven true,' Castro said during a press briefing.
