00:00Breaking news at the top of this bulletin.
00:02BRICS to be charged with 10% tariff by the United States of America.
00:07After the just concluded BRICS summit, this is breaking news coming in.
00:12America clearly feeling threatened by the BRICS forum,
00:17calling against de-dollarization of the U.S. economy because BRICS,
00:23some countries have floated the idea of using local currencies, country currencies
00:30or maybe even looking at a BRICS currency which absolutely has threatened Donald Trump
00:36as the country reels under an economic slowdown.
00:39Now breaking news coming in, Donald Trump and his press conference that is underway as we speak
00:45has said that BRICS countries will be charged with an extra, an additional 10% tariff.
00:52And this is the tariff war being taken to not just countries but to blocks.
00:57Listen in to what he have to say.
01:02Back to members of the BRICS countries for if they aligned with anti-American policies.
01:0710% George.
01:08That would be India, Brazil.
01:10That's right. They have to pay 10% if they're in BRICS.
01:13Because BRICS was set up to hurt us.
01:15BRICS was set up to degenerate our dollar and take our dollar as the standard,
01:21or take it off as the standard.
01:22And that's okay if they want to play that game.
01:25But I can play that game too.
01:26So anybody that's in BRICS is getting a 10% charge.
01:29The Press is that immediate, sir?
01:30Or is that if they engage in some behavior?
01:33The President Trump Well, if they're a member of BRICS,
01:35they're going to have to pay 10% tariff just for that one thing.
01:38And they won't be a member alone.
01:39I thought BRICS was, you know, I said this about a year ago and it largely broke up.
01:45But, you know, there are a couple that hang around.
01:48But I thought it largely broke up.
01:50BRICS is not, in my opinion, not a serious threat.
01:53But what they're trying to do is destroy the dollar
01:55so that another country can take over and be the standard.
02:00And we're not going to lose the standard.
02:04That's just coming in.
02:05Donald Trump has announced an additional 10% tariff for all BRICS nations.
02:10He also said that BRICS had broken up and that countries were leaving.
02:15In fact, that's not correct.
02:19What is correct is that BRICS has added to the five-country member today.
02:24It is a 10-country member block and expanded BRICS no longer just Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa.
02:33You have Iran.
02:34You also have the United Arab Emirates, a very key ally and partner of the United States of America.
02:42So how are countries really going to react to a 10% additional tariff by the United States of America?
02:49How does that work out in this entire plan with India,
02:53where India is already in conversation with the United States of America for a limited trade deal?
03:00That's more important, and we'll be tracking those stories very, very closely
03:04because the news that's also coming in is that India and the U.S. have already now come up with a limited trade deal.
03:13Will there be an additional 10% besides what is decided between the two countries?
03:19Important, fine print.
03:21We'll get you all the details.
03:23You'll find it first here on India Today.
03:29Take it.
