MLA Sofia Firdous files FIR against Ratan Ranjan for derogatory social media post on Rahul Gandhi

Cuttack (Odisha) July 9, 2025 (ANI): Congress MLA Sofia Firdous has filed an official complaint at the Lalbagh Police Station in Cuttack against a person identified as Ratan Ranjan. The FIR pertains to a derogatory and misleading social media post targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s initiative of distributing sanitary napkins in Bihar under the Indian National Congress BPT cell.

00:08When the leader of Indian National Congress Party, Rahul Gandhiji,

00:12has distributed sanitary napkins in Bihar and other places,

00:17the BJP IT cell did not go back in spreading the fake news.

00:25but this time they have crossed all limits of insensitivity

00:28when they try to target the menstrual cycle, the body of a woman,

00:33by making lame comments and by laughing at us.

00:37So this kind of attitude is not tolerated when the party has tried to do something very, very good,

01:06and circulated it as a fake news, which was eventually taken down.

01:10They deleted the tweet, but this is the fact that they have always tried to peddle fake news

01:21We have come to file FAR at Lalbagh Thana.

01:24We have got the receiving copy and we have placed our demand to arrest all those handrails,

01:29to block all those handrails so that they don't dare to do these kind of actions
