00:00Parti Pasaka Bumiputra Bursatu is expected to be the biggest beneficiary in a proposed

00:07expansion of the Sarawak State Assembly to 99 seats under a bill to be tabled on Monday.

00:14A source familiar with the plan told FMT that PBB is poised to gain 10 out of the 17 new seats,

00:20including seven Malay-majority areas and three Malana-majority constituencies.

00:25Sarawak United People's Party will be allocated three new seats, one in a Chinese-majority area

00:31and two in mixed Chinese-Iban areas.

00:35Parti Rakyat Sarawak will be allocated two Iban-majority seats, while the Progressive Democratic Party

00:41will get one seat in a Bedayuh-majority constituency and another seat in an Orang-Ulu-majority area.

00:48According to the source, among the new Malay-majority seats likely to be created for PBB

00:53are Sejinjang, Serapi & Semarat, Bukit Kemuyang, and Permaisuri.

00:59The Malana-majority areas expected are Susu Jambu and Oya.

01:04The source claimed the expansion of the State Assembly was less about ensuring balanced representation

01:10and more about reinforcing GPS's grip on power.
