00:05:03And I tell you, Michael, that crowd wasn't quite so raucous
00:05:05when there was a question in the air as to whether he was going to go with the Alliance
00:05:08or whether he was going to go with the WWF.
00:05:11Well, as Mr. McMahon put, The Rock chose the devil he knew
00:05:13over the devils he didn't know,
00:05:15and Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley.
00:05:17And tomorrow night on Raw, The Rock will be back in action for the first time in four months.
00:05:22A street fight against Shane McMahon.

00:12:39Kurt Angle has challenged Stone Cold to the WWF title two weeks from tonight.

00:12:45And it is imperative that Angle bring back that WWF title.
00:12:48Not only for Vince McMahon, but for the entire WWF and for the WWF fans.
00:12:53That title has meant everything to the McMahon family for three generations.
00:12:57And I'm even talking about the third one that turned its back on the WWF.
00:13:00Well, Kurt Angle has a special guest appearance this past Thursday night on cable television's highest rated show on Thursdays, right here on MTV.
00:13:08It's Toughen Up.
00:13:09And Kurt Angle had some very poignant things to say, part of Toughen Up this past week.
00:13:13We have a guest today.
00:13:20You know, we started doing our jumping jacks.
00:13:21I scoot over and, you know, I look and, you know, there's...
00:13:24That's Kurt Angle.
00:13:26As all of you know, my name's Kurt Angle.
00:13:28Now, I remember in 1996, Vince and Linda McMahon asked me to come up to Stanford, Connecticut to the WWF to check out their headquarters.
00:13:37And I did.
00:13:38And I went up there with the attitude of what I've been taught my whole life.
00:13:45That pro wrestling is a joke.
00:13:47I went into Vince McMahon's office and he offered me a multi-million dollar deal.
00:13:52And I didn't laugh in his face, but deep inside I was laughing.
00:13:56And I went home and I talked to my agent.
00:13:58And together, simultaneously, we ripped up the contract and threw it away.
00:14:03Because I didn't understand what it was all about.
00:14:04So, about two and a half years later, I'm sitting at home.
00:14:09I turn on Raw.
00:14:11And after the first Raw's war, I was hooked.
00:14:14Not just because of the storylines, but because of the athleticism.
00:14:18I realize what we do now.
00:14:19We entertain people.
00:14:21But we entertain people to a higher degree.
00:14:24It's adrenaline.
00:14:25It kicks in and you know you're going to perform in front of millions of people on TV.
00:14:29And the thousands of people, 20,000 people in that arena, there's nothing like it.
00:14:33And it's just something special about it.
00:14:36I think that's what I'm addicted to.
00:14:37As you know, I've lived my life by the three I's.
00:14:40Well, there's a fourth eye.
00:14:41Your fourth eye is an island.
00:14:44You guys are going to Paradise Island, the Bahamas.
00:14:46It was the most beautiful place I've ever, easily the most beautiful place I've ever been to.
00:14:54That whole first day that we got to the Bahamas, we had so many activities planned.
00:14:59And I was just trying to keep up with everybody.
00:15:01I'd hurt my knee last Wednesday and didn't really tell anyone about it.
00:15:06I went to take my MRI results to my orthopedic doctor in town.
00:15:10If I do have a legit injury, you know, this opportunity is gone.
00:15:15The first doctor basically told her she has a partially torn lateral ligament.
00:15:20That she has a partially broken bone at the top of her femur.
00:15:24What I suggested to her is, I said, look, go home tonight and talk to your family.
00:15:29Because I think they have to be a part of this decision.
00:15:31Talk to your friends and sleep on it.
00:15:33I think I'd love to give it a shot when I'm 100% again.
00:15:43And I really could see myself being a superstar.
00:15:46I really could.
00:15:48I'll tell you, Michael, it really broke my heart when Paulina left.
00:15:51I thought she had great chances to be a WWF superstar.
00:15:54But what's most important to me is that people take away from this show
00:15:57what Kurt Angle actually verbalized better than anything else.
00:16:01And that is his change in attitude towards this business.
00:16:04I hope that people watch this show and actually learn and gain a new appreciation
00:16:09for how much heart and passion and work it takes to be involved in this business.
00:16:14I'll tell you one thing, Al.
00:16:15You were talking about the injuries Paulina suffered.
00:16:17Here's a man who knew all of that injury.
00:16:19It's six months of his career with a broken arm.
00:16:21One fall.
00:16:23Making his way to the ring for Mobile, Alabama.
00:16:25Weighing in at 209 pounds.
00:16:28Hardcore.
00:16:29And Al, here's a superstar, Hardcore Holley,
00:16:32who was really rising to the top when he suffered that injury.
00:16:35And once he suffered a broken arm, he had to go back to square one
00:16:38and build himself up again as a superstar to the top road.
00:16:41Michael, this is not the first time that Hardcore Holley
00:16:43has had to go back to square one and start over again.
00:16:46And I'm sure he's not going to have a problem starting over again and reaching the top.
00:16:51This guy's so tough, he actually finished the match with Kurt Angle with a broken arm.
00:16:57And representing the Alliance, weighing in at 261 pounds, Sean Stasiak.
00:17:04You know, Sean Stasiak's got such a huge ego, Al Snow.
00:17:08This past Thursday night on SmackDown, he introduced himself to Stone Cold Steve Austin.
00:17:12Stone Cold played it off like he knew who Stasiak was.
00:17:14Austin had no clue.
00:17:16Stasiak is a member of the Alliance.
00:17:18He's an up-and-coming superstar who is trying now to make a name for himself
00:17:22in a match against a guy like Hardcore Holley.

00:26:49And it costs, but because they never fit in in natural society as far as the wrestling
00:26:55world was concerned.
