00:00President Vladimir Zelensky spoke on Friday with U.S. President Donald Trump in what the

00:08Ukrainian leader said was, quote, a very important and fruitful phone call. In a post on social

00:15media platform X, he said the pair discussed Russian airstrikes and broader front line

00:20developments. He also said they spoke about opportunities in air defense and agreed they

00:25would, quote, work together to strengthen the protection of our skies. Zelensky then went on

00:31to thank the U.S. President for his support. The conversation comes a day after Trump and

00:37Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed Ukraine, Iran and other issues in a call the

00:42Kremlin described as frank and constructive. But despite phone calls, the conflict still

00:48continues on the ground. Overnight and into Friday, Russia launched a massive aerial attack

00:54against Ukraine, mainly targeting Kyiv, while subsequent attacks also caused a blackout

01:00at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, said the country's energy minister. Also on Friday,

01:07a Russian Telegram channel reported that Ukraine had used a new type of drone to attack a strategic

01:12plant in the country's Rostovulblast region.
