00:00Look at how Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala teaches Musa not to rely on his senses.
00:05He says you can't rely on those.
00:07So he says,
00:07وما تلك بيمينك يا موسى
00:10So Musa alayhi salam, what does he say?
00:13He says,
00:13It's,
00:14قال هي عصايا
00:15It's my staff.
00:17أتوكأ عليها
00:18Meaning I lean on it.
00:21It's a means of استعانة.
00:22It aids me.
00:23It helps me.
00:25And in the Quran, what do you say?
00:26You say إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين
00:30Every day we're lying to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:32We're saying only on you we rely.
00:34But we're always asking from makhluk.
00:36With the heart.
00:37There's no issue to ask from makhluk with your tongue.
00:40If your heart's connected to Allah.
00:42But we see the current condition of the ummah.
00:44Unfortunately, we need a lot of work.
00:46So then he says,
00:47وَأَهُشُ بِهَا عَلَى غَنَلِي
00:49Meaning it's a means of my sustenance.
00:53Okay, so it provides for me.
00:55وَلِيَ فِيهَا مَآرِبُ أُخْرَى
00:57And I've got many benefits in it.
00:59Okay, now here's the lesson.
01:01That's what you see, O Musa.
01:02That's what I see.
01:03He says,
01:04قَالَ أَلْقِهَا
01:04He says, now drop it.
01:06He wants to remove that from the heart of what?
01:09From the heart of Musa, عليه السلام.
01:12فَأَلْقَاهَا
01:12فَإِذَا هِيَّ حَيَّتُ
01:14تَسْعَى
01:15All of a sudden, Allah completely switches up all the attributes.
01:20First it was his.
01:21Now he wants nothing to do with it.
01:23Right?
01:23He's scared of the snake.
01:25Secondly, he says, it's a means.
01:27He says, for help, for aiding me.
01:30Now, typically, you don't seek help from a snake.
01:33Right?
01:33Because he sees harm in the snake.
01:36So Allah SWT switches up all the attributes to teach him
01:40and Musa gets scared.
01:41But then he calls him back.
01:43And he says,
01:43قَالَ خُذْهَا
01:44وَلَا تَخَفْ
01:45He says, grab it and don't fear.
01:48Don't be scared.
01:49سَنُعِيدُهَا سِيرَتَهَا الْأُولَى
01:51What is he teaching him?
01:53He's showing him that the true نَافِع
01:55is Iman.
01:56The true نَافِع
01:57is Allah
01:58based on that Iman.
02:00Okay, nice.
02:00So when the Iman is now rectified,
02:03now Musa,
02:04he's teaching him that,
02:04no, no, no, no,
02:05benefit is not from the staff.
02:07I am the Nafia.
02:09Ultimately,
02:10you have to look beyond the needs.
02:12Right.
