00:00Sa paumagitan ng pagtutulungan ng lokal na pamahalaan at pribadong sektor,

00:04nasa isang milyong native tree seedlings sa Toledo City na itanim.

00:10Bahagi pa rin ito ng pagsisikap na mapangalagaan ang kalikasan

00:14at matulungan ang iba't ibang mga komunidad.

00:23Nagsama-sama ang mga miyembro ng Saud Caladman Farmers Association,

00:28mga kinatawan ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 7,

00:33RAFI, Therma Visayas Inc. at maging ang LGU ng Toledo City.

00:38Iisa ang layunin, ang sabay-sabay na makapagtanim ng cacao seedlings sa Barangay Bato.

00:44Maingat na ipinunla ang bitbit na seedlings na bahagi ng Carbon Sink Management Program.

00:50Ang mga magsasaka mismo ang pumili ng cacao para itanim dahil makatutulong ito sa kanilang hanap buhay.

00:58We're actually commemorating a milestone ng Carbon Sink Management Program namin.

01:04So that goal is to plant 1 million trees, but also in the next phase, make sure that all these trees thrive.

01:14So this is a milestone that we're celebrating because we've actually met the 1 million milestone already.

01:20It was supposed to be 10 years, but we've met it in 3.

01:23Yung community involvement is very important for us because of course, this is our home in Toledo, right?

01:31This is where we operate and we want to take care of people while at the same time achieving our objectives on sustainability as well.

01:38At para matiyak, natuloy-tuloy na mapapangalagaan ang mga itinanim na cacao seedlings

01:43at maging panghanap buhay sa tulong ng agroforestry.

01:47Lumagda sa Memorandum of Agreement ang mga magsasaka kasama ang TVI at ang LGU ng Toledo City.

01:54Rafi's role in that partnership is really first is to do the social preparations of the community

02:00because it is the belief of Rafi that before we do any intervention, there has to be proper advocacy, proper enabling of the community.

02:09So Rafi works with the community, prepare them, but most importantly, we provide technical training to the farmers

02:18such as plantation maintenance to ensure that when the planting, tree planting happens, there is really sustainability.

02:26I'd like to thank another program for the people of Toledo from TVI Abuites.

02:33And with this, I'm so grateful that this company has been helping us here in Toledo.

02:39So I think three months ago, they also gave a program for project for our Fisher Fox and now here in Barangay Bato.
