00:00Most people don't understand how deep submarines go.
00:03Imagine we dove to the deepest submarine.
00:05First we'd see small submersibles built for research or even luxury tourism.
00:09As we go deeper, most military submarines operate around here, we think.
00:13These subs are built for stealth and speed.
00:15They stay relatively close to the surface for operations.
00:18Now we're starting to get to deep sea military submarines.
00:21We know rough depths for some of these, but the exact depths are kept secret.
00:24But we're not even close to the deepest we can go.
00:27Diving down thousands of meters, we're actually no longer in a submarine.
00:30We're in a manned submersible.
00:32Down here, the pressure is around a thousand times what it is on the surface.
00:36The deepest crude submersible that we know about is this one.
00:39In 2019, it went down an insane depth of 11,000 meters, reaching the deepest part of the ocean.
00:46At bottom. Repeat. At bottom.
00:51And this vehicle had a titanium hull three and a half inches thick to withstand the pressure.
00:56We're making a longer video about living underwater, so subscribe.
