Kashmir Divisional commissioner urges peaceful Muharram procession as Amarnath Yatra also underway

Srinagar (J&K), July 4, 2025 (ANI): Speaking on the preparations for Muharram processions, the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri shared that this is the third consecutive year of Muharram being observed in the district. He also urged people to keep the procession limited to its religious significance as Amarnath Yatra is also going on simultaneously.He said, "This is the third consecutive year when Muharram is being observed. The District Administration has made all necessary arrangements for the 'azadaars'. Police arrangements have been made keeping safety and security in mind... I urge everyone to keep the procession limited to its religious significance... Amarnath Yatra is also going on simultaneously..."
