00:00Part of the problem, part of the issue,
00:05to why we find ourselves, everyday Americans, in this situation,
00:10is because of the dominance of special interests in this town.
00:23And this one big, ugly bill.
00:30Represents a massive giveaway to special interests in this country.
00:39And we reject special interests because our job here in the United States of America,
00:45Mr. Speaker, is to protect the public interest at all times.
00:51Today, tomorrow, always, and forever.
00:54Extraordinary to me, Mr. Speaker, that you got folks in this town
01:09talking about draining the swamp.
01:13Guess what?
01:13You are the swamp.
01:16You are the swamp.
01:20You are the swamp.
01:21We've never seen anything like this.
01:26The type of corruption that has been unleashed on the American people
01:31and has poisoned, Mr. Speaker, this bill.
01:38See, you're consulting the parliamentarian, I think.
01:47I said, people in this town.
01:56I'm thankful that my grandmother saw fit to have her grandson educated.
02:00We've never seen a level, Mr. Speaker, of this type of corruption
02:09unleashed on the American people
02:18that has made its way
02:23into this one big, ugly bill.
02:27Extraordinary levels of corruption
02:34in this town
02:37unleashed on the American people.
02:44Corruption on steroids will be an understatement.
02:47In terms of what
02:52the American people
02:55are now being subjected to.
02:59So one of the things we
03:00look forward to
03:04changing in this town,
03:07I want to make this commitment,
03:09House Democrats,
03:10we are committed
03:15to making sure
03:17that we end
03:23corruption once and for all
03:26in the United States of America,
03:29end corruption in Congress,
03:33end corruption at the Supreme Court,
03:36and end corruption with the administration.
03:43That's part of our agenda.
03:46An anti-corruption agenda.
03:49That's what the American people deserve.
03:52That's what we as House Democrats
03:54are committed to bringing about.
03:56The exact opposite, Mr. Speaker,
03:58of what we see in this bill.
04:00We're going to present to the American people
04:04an anti-corruption agenda,
04:06the likes of which have
04:07never been seen.
04:09That's right.
04:11Because it's too much.
04:13That's right.
04:13Fundamentally, it undermines the ability
04:18of government
04:21to deliver
04:24for everyday Americans.
04:28You see that
04:32politics
04:35at the end of the day
04:38is about
04:42the management
04:43of public money.
04:48That's why we need
04:49everyday Americans
04:50to participate
04:51in your democracy.
04:55Because politics
04:57at the end of the day
04:58is about the management
05:01of public money.
05:02It's about
05:02how taxpayer dollars
05:04are going to be managed.
05:09And what's extraordinary
05:11about this one big
05:14ugly bill
05:16is that what we see,
05:20Mr. Speaker,
05:21is
05:21the management
05:24of public money,
05:25all of it being done
05:26in this highly partisan way.
05:32It's not designed
05:33to serve the best interest
05:35of the American people.
05:41It's being managed,
05:42Mr. Speaker,
05:43in this
05:44GOP tax scam,
05:47this disgusting
05:48abomination,
05:50this one big
05:51ugly bill.
05:57The management
05:57of taxpayer money
05:59being
06:00misused
06:02and abused
06:02to hurt
06:05everyday Americans
06:09in order
06:12in order to reward
06:13billionaires
06:14with massive
06:15tax breaks.
06:18That's a dereliction
06:20of duty.
06:21Mismanagement
06:22of public money.
06:25It's an abuse
06:26of the privilege
06:29that all of us
06:30as members
06:31of the United States
06:33Congress have.
06:34And so,
06:37one of our promises
06:38to the American people
06:39as we look
06:39toward the future,
06:41we will always
06:42be stewards
06:43of your money
06:46to make sure
06:47that we are
06:47allocating taxpayer dollars
06:49in a way
06:50designed
06:50to lift up
06:52the American people,
06:53not tear
06:54the American people down.
06:55That's the type
06:56of Congress
06:57that the American people
07:00deserve.
07:00the public interest
07:03over special interest.
07:05The public interest
07:06over special interest.
07:08The public interest
07:10over special interest.
07:19That's one of our promises
07:21to the American people.
07:23And we're going to work hard
07:25to earn your trust
07:26as we move forward.
07:30and look
07:32toward the future.
