00:11The Department of Agriculture, or DA, is considering setting a maximum suggested retail price for imported chicken
00:16to help stabilize prices and ensure affordability for consumers,
00:21especially during the burr months where demand for poultry products typically increases.
00:25According to the DA Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Arnel de Mesa,
00:30the DA is currently studying the imposition of MSRP for imported pork products starting in August,
00:36followed by poultry products like chicken in September.
00:39As of this week, the price of whole chicken in Metro Manila is between 220 pesos and 250 pesos per kilogram.
00:47Agricultural Secretary Francisco Tula-Rell made it clear that imported chicken should be priced lower than local chicken
00:54and should not be passed off as the real deal.
00:58While the MSRP for imported chicken is still being calculated based on its value chain,
01:03there are no plans to set an MSRP for local chicken,
01:06meaning that local producers won't be caught in the crossfire.
01:11In the news overseas, with Iran's military prowess decimated and its proxies' offensive capabilities neutralized,
01:18peace in the Middle East region is now within reach more than ever.
01:22But Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his coalition government are not budging on their stand
