At the QUAD meet hosted by US Secretary Marco Rubio, EAM Jaishankar drew a sharp line. He said, 'Victims and perpetrators can't be equated.' Joined by Penny Wong and Iwaya Takeshi, leaders discussed countering China's rise. India also rebutted Trump’s claims on Kashmir, defending its stance on sovereignty and anti-terrorism.

00:08And India has every right to defend its people against terrorism.
00:14These are very important countries.
00:16These are very important strategic partners and allies of the United States.
00:19And together we have a lot of shared priorities, a lot of things we care about in the world.
00:24I think there are many global problems, but also problems that we face in our respective
00:28countries that can be solved by us cooperating together.
00:32And there are many topics that we can work on and focus on.
00:35One that I've personally been very focused on is diversifying the global supply chain of
00:39critical minerals, not just access to the raw material, but also access to the ability to
00:45process and refine it to usable material.
00:48It's critical for all technologies and for all industries across the board.
00:52And so having a diverse and reliable global supply chain of these is just one example of
00:57many that we can focus on and build upon and achieve some real progress on.
01:04So that's the hope for this partnership.
01:06That's why it's so important to host it here today.
01:08A word about terrorism in the light of our recent experience.
01:13The world must display zero tolerance.
01:17Victims and perpetrators must never be equated.
01:21And India has every right to defend its people against terrorism.
01:25And we will exercise that right.
01:28We expect our Quad partners to understand and appreciate that.
01:32This is a very important Quad meeting as always.
01:35And unfortunately we meet against the backdrop of conflict and of escalating competition.
01:40So it has never been more important for us to harness our collective strength for peace, for stability, for prosperity in the Indo-Pacific and for all our peoples.
