iPhone 3GS reviews start spreading, how's it look?
Yesterday we talked about iPhone 3GS vs Pre vs Tour, and today we've started to see reviews start to come out about the iPhone 3GS. So far, they're pretty positive, though they all emphasize, just as Apple did, that the new model is more of a evolution of the older model, rather than some sort of dramatic change. Speed improvements are the most noticeable change, though current iPhone 3G users might want to evaluate whether the extra $200 pricetag on top of a $200 or $300 device is worth the modest speed boost. We talked with Dan Frommer from Business Insider, and Stuart Miles from Pocket-Lint about the situation, and they're pretty much in agreement that the new device is a big boon for people looking for reasons to buy the iPhone, but that current 3G users won't feel the need to upgrade. Dan says he might upgrade, but is sort of playing a wait-and-see approach, especially when faced with a $500 pricetag. Stuart, on the other hand, doesn't think he'd really go for the phone, even with the price, but notes this summer is almost an awakening of smartphones in that there's actually starting to be notable competition for the iPhone. What's your take, are you going to pick up an iPhone 3GS, a Pre, or wait for another phone? Sound off in the comments. Distributed by Tubemogul.
