Jalaluddin ODI Debut vs Sri Lanka in 1982

This is the story of a right-arm fast-medium bowler from Pakistan, known as much for his glasses as for his bowling. After a brilliant domestic season, he earned a place in the 1982 England tour squad but missed the Headingley Test due to injury. His Test debut came against Australia in Lahore, where he took an impressive 5 wickets for 92 runs.  Despite showing early promise, he couldn’t make a lasting mark internationally and played just a handful of Tests over the next couple of years. He was recalled in 1985-86 for a Test against Sri Lanka but managed only one wicket, bringing his international journey to an end.  Interestingly, although his international chances were limited, his One Day International (ODI) stats were better than expected. He remained a top domestic performer throughout his career. 03:55Unfortunately, he managed to take just a single wicket, and that match turned out to be his last appearance on the international stage.

04:14But Jalaluddin's name is aged in cricket history for a special reason.

04:18He was the first-ever baller to take a hat-trick in one-day international.
