01:00The program's schedule is brought to you in part by Personal TV.
01:29Oh, hello there.
01:32Great to see you again.
01:34I was just looking up at the stars.
01:36I've always wondered what it would be like to be up in space.
01:43Whoa!
01:45Wouldn't it be great if you could paint in space?
01:48I expect it'll be a bit tricky.
01:53Wait, what?
01:54Oi!
01:55Here we go.
01:58Come back!
02:00Hmm, what a great daydream.
02:05And who knows?
02:06I might actually get to paint in space one day.
02:09Plus, it's given me a great idea.
02:12Let's try something.
02:14Try making a splatter space picture that's out of this world.
02:20Let's make it.
02:23We'll need some things from the Doodle Draws.
02:28Some paper and a pen.
02:32A glue stick and some scissors.
02:37Some paint and some sticky tape.
02:40An old toothbrush and a piece of card.
02:47Whoa!
02:49Now, to make a splatter space picture, like this one here,
02:54first, make sure that you put down some old paper or some newspaper,
02:59as this can get a bit messy.
03:01Now, let's mix some white paint with a little bit of water.
03:04Let's do the same with yellow paint and red paint
03:10to make three different runny paint mixtures.
03:14Don't forget to give them all a good stir.
03:22There.
03:24Now we're ready for the really fun and really messy bit.
03:28So let's get a piece of black paper, like that,
03:32and then get the old toothbrush
03:34and put it into the white paint mixture.
03:38And then get our piece of card ready
03:40and we're going to hold the toothbrush
03:42at the bottom of the paper
03:45and with the card,
03:47scrape towards you.
03:54Wow!
03:55Look at that!
03:56What a great effect!
03:58Now, you must remember to scrape towards you
04:01when you do this and not away from you
04:03because you'll splatter yourself in paint!
04:06Keep going until your paper is covered in splatters.
04:11When it's dry, put it to one side
04:14and get another piece of coloured paper,
04:16like this brown one here,
04:18and start ripping out lumpy crater shapes like this.
04:22Now we can put this on top of our splattered space picture
04:34to make the craters.
04:37And now add some extra details with a black pen.
04:45Next, how about adding some extra planets in the background?
04:48Just splatter some red and orange paper
04:53with the red and yellow paint we made earlier.
04:57Then find something that's round,
04:59like this plastic cup,
05:01and draw round it to get the perfect circle shape.
05:07You can even draw round the inside of a sticky tape roll
05:12to get smaller circles.
05:13You can do as many as you like.
05:19When you're happy with your circles,
05:21cut them out,
05:22but remember to be careful
05:23because scissors are sharp.
05:26Ooh, all right.
05:31These will give us our splattery planets
05:34and we can place them wherever we like.
05:36Now, what do all crazy space planets need?
05:43A crazy space alien.
05:46Let's draw one.
05:47It can look however you like,
05:49but this one's going to have three eyes.
05:51Ooh.
05:58There.
05:58Now, let's paint it.
06:00And then, when it's dry,
06:07we can add some extra detail with a black pen.
06:15And then very carefully cut it out.
06:22Now, put your alien on the planet.
06:24He'll look really good
06:28hiding behind one of the craters.
06:30And when you're happy with your picture,
06:32glue everything down.
06:39There we have it.
06:41A fantastic splatter space picture.
06:44Splattering is great fun.
06:46Oh, I'd love to meet an alien one day.
06:48Hello, Mr. Maker.
06:49Will you come and visit me sometime?
06:51Oh, thank you, Mr. Alien.
06:53I'd love to come and visit you.
06:54Who's that snoring?
06:57Oh, it's the shapes.
06:59They're asleep again.
07:02Let's wake them up.
07:10Hey, hey, hey.
07:12Whoa, hey.
07:14Ah, yeah.
07:16Whoa.
07:19Whoa.
07:19Whoa.
07:20Whoa.
07:24I am a shape.
07:26I am a shape.
07:28I am a shape.
07:33I am a circle.
07:38I am a triangle.
07:43I am a square.
07:44I am a rectangle.
07:49I am a shape.
07:54I have a square.
07:58What's hiding in the squares?
08:03Can you guess?
08:08Wow!
08:13Wow!
08:14It's a dinosaur.
08:16Well done, Square.
08:18It's time to get back on the shelf.
08:32I knew that waking up the shapes was a good idea.
08:34They're brilliant.
08:36Tucky, here.
08:37Minute make time.
08:39It's minute make time.
08:41Come on.
08:43It's minute make time.
08:44And here's what we're going to make today.
08:46It's coin clackers.
08:53Olay!
08:54Now, to make coin clackers, you will need a rectangle shaped piece of cardboard, two strips of thin card, two coins that are the same size, some sticky tack and some sticky tape.
09:10Now, do you think it's possible to make this in just one minute?
09:14You'll have to go like the clackers.
09:16Yes, I will.
09:17I'll have to be quick.
09:18But don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end.
09:22Are you ready?
09:23Let's make it in a minute.
09:24Let's make it in a minute.
09:25Start the clock.
09:26Right.
09:27Let's get the piece of rectangle shaped cardboard and fold it in half like that.
09:31Then get a strip of card and loop it around the finger.
09:35That makes one loop and we can fix that in place with a piece of sticky tape.
09:40There we go.
09:41On you go.
09:42There's one loop.
09:43I'm going to do the same with the other piece of card here.
09:47Just looping it around like that.
09:50There we go.
09:51And a bit of sticky tape there should fix it in place.
09:55Go on.
09:56On you go.
09:57Halfway there.
09:58Halfway already?
09:59Oh, no.
10:00Right.
10:01I need to make a loop of sticky tape now.
10:04And around here we go.
10:06If I put that one on there, that will fix one of the loops in.
10:10And now I need another bit now.
10:12Here we are.
10:13Oh, I haven't got long.
10:15I'm running out of time.
10:16Right.
10:17Here we go.
10:18If I put that on there, put that loop there.
10:20Now I need my coins.
10:21And if I stick those on there and there, I've done it.
10:28That was close.
10:30Yeah.
10:31Just in time.
10:32A coin clacker made in a minute.
10:35And if you've got more than a minute, you could paint your coin clacker and even do different designs.
10:41This one's got wavy patterns.
10:44And this one's got stripes, triangles and dots.
10:47How about this snapping clacker?
10:49It's painted just like a crocodile.
10:52Coin clackers.
10:53Made in a minute.
10:55Why don't you give it a go?
10:57Here's a reminder of how to do it.
10:59Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.
11:03To make a coin clacker, fold some cardboard in half.
11:07Roll two bits of card around your finger to make tubes.
11:10Tape one to the top of your clacker and one to the bottom.
11:14Put some sticky tack onto your coins and stick them to the inside of your clacker, lining them up so they hit each other.
11:24And then you make it in a minute.
11:26Hello, it's the nature.
11:29Guess what we did today.
11:33Oh, I don't know.
11:34Why don't you tell us?
11:36I am black.
11:37I am black.
11:38I am black.
11:39I am yellow.
11:40I am pink.
11:41I am blue.
11:42I am blue.
11:43I am blue.
11:44I am blue.
11:45I am blue.
11:46I am blue.
11:47I am blue.
11:48I am blue.
11:49I am blue.
11:50I am blue.
11:51I am blue.
11:52I am blue.
11:53I am blue.
11:54I am blue.
11:55I am blue.
11:56I am blue.
11:57I am blue.
11:58I am blue.
11:59I am blue.
12:00I am blue.
12:01I am blue.
12:02I am blue.
12:03I am blue.
12:04I am blue.
12:05I am blue.
12:06I am blue.
12:07I am blue.
12:08I am blue.
12:09I am blue.
12:10I am blue.
12:11I am blue.
12:12I am blue.
12:13I am blue.
12:14I am blue.
12:15Well done everyone. See you next time. Now it's time to frame it. Frame it. Frame it. Now take a look at this.
12:34What a fantastic bonfire picture. It looks so good you'll be able to frame it.
12:40You'll need some black paper, paint, PVA glue and a paintbrush, glitter, sticky stars and some twigs.
12:52To make your bonfire picture, start with fire coloured paint like red, yellow and orange in squeezy bottles.
12:59Squeeze the paint straight onto the paper in nice wavy lines.
13:04Next you can add your orange and red.
13:12To make your paint look even more like flames, use the end of a paintbrush and weave a wobbly line through it like this.
13:20And leave it to dry. Then squeeze the PVA glue to make wavy lines on top of the flames.
13:32Add a blob at the base.
13:38And now for the fun bit, add some glitter.
13:42Gold at the base of the bonfire and red and silver around the flames.
13:47Shake off all the glitter that hasn't stuck to the glue and make sure that you clean up after yourself.
13:54Then add your twigs.
13:56Make a small pile at the bottom like this.
13:59And drizzle some gloopy glue over the top.
14:03Now all that's left to do is stick on some stars around your bonfire for the sparks.
14:09What a brilliant bonfire picture.
14:12You can almost feel the heat with this fantastic 3D effect.
14:16Why don't you have a go?
14:18What a great way of making a really clever picture.
14:22Now all that's left to do is frame it.
14:27That looks amazing.
14:30Now watch this.
14:32I'm just giving my plants some water.
14:38Hi Mr Maker.
14:41Was that you?
14:43No?
14:44It's me.
14:46I'm down here.
14:47Oh yes, Mr Worm.
14:49What are you doing down there?
14:51Getting wet.
14:53Sorry about that.
14:54That's enough water for now.
14:56Thanks.
14:57Bye.
14:58Good old Mr Worm.
15:00And seeing him gives me a great idea.
15:04Let's make something.
15:07Surprise your friends with a can of Wiggly Wiggly Worms.
15:12Let's make it.
15:13We'll need some things from the doodle drawers.
15:16An old rubber glove.
15:23A cardboard tub with a lid.
15:26A pen, a pencil, a glue stick and some paper.
15:31Some silver wrapping paper and a ruler.
15:36Whoa.
15:37Now to make your very own can of worms like this one here.
15:43You first have to take the bottom out of a cardboard tub with a lid like this one.
15:49Now these bottoms will normally just push out like that.
15:53But if you find this tricky, you can always ask an adult to help you.
15:58There we go.
15:59Now we need to get our silver wrapping paper and lay the tub at the bottom of it there.
16:06And with a black pen, just make a little mark to show how tall it is.
16:11There we go.
16:12And then move it along to the other side of the paper and make a mark there as well.
16:20There.
16:21Now we're going to get our ruler and join these marks up.
16:28Then we need to cut along this line, but be careful because scissors are sharp.
16:43Now we're going to glue along the short edge of our wrapping paper.
16:48Plenty on there.
16:50And then stick it to the edge of our tub.
16:55There we go.
16:57And we can roll our tub along like that and then glue along this edge as well.
17:07And then stick it down.
17:10Now for the lid.
17:13Cover it in glue on both sides.
17:18And then wrap a piece of wrapping paper around it.
17:23You can cover the inside of the lid by gluing on scraps of silver wrapping paper like this.
17:29Now with a black pen, let's draw a line right down the middle of the tin and some circles like that.
17:39And now for the wiggly wiggly worms.
17:47We need to draw two eyes for each worm.
17:51Now there's a worm on every finger.
17:53So that's five worms.
17:55And two eyes for each worm.
17:57That's ten eyes.
17:59Let's get some white paper and start drawing them.
18:03There, ten eyes.
18:11Now we need to carefully cut these out.
18:13There are the eyes.
18:17Now for the next bit, it makes it easier if you put your rubber glove on your hand.
18:29There we go.
18:30Because now we can glue on our eyes.
18:40There.
18:41Now with a black pen, we can give each of our wiggly worms a mouth.
18:45And there you have it.
18:50Five wiggly, wiggly worms.
18:53And then put this inside the tin.
18:57There we go.
19:01And then put on the lid.
19:05There.
19:06Now you're ready to surprise someone.
19:12Oh, you could try.
19:14Boo!
19:17Spotty worms.
19:19Made by putting stickers onto your rubber glove.
19:24Ooh!
19:26Disco worms.
19:28Made by adding feathers and sequins to your rubber glove.
19:33Time to go!
19:34Time to go!
19:36That means my making time is over.
19:38But yours is just beginning.
19:40See you soon.
19:41It's time to put all this stuff back in its box!

21:50More of the children
21:53of our adventures today
21:55I'm gonna draw a monkey
21:56Today we met some really friendly animals
22:00in Costa Rica
22:01Costa Rica
22:11Costa Rica
22:11I had to reach out my hand
22:14I'm gonna tell you to run
22:19I'm gonna tell you to run
22:19I'm gonna tell you to run
22:23Are we there yet?
22:37World adventure!
22:38Today we're visiting an animal rescue center in Costa Rica
22:41Guess what we passed along the way?
22:44A real volcano!
22:46It was a bit of a long car ride
22:47So we played a game
22:49Unos, dos, tres
22:52Uh-uh
23:04Uh, you blinked way before me
23:06What in?
23:08Try to keep up, Mom
23:09That's Alvaro
23:10He takes care of the animals
23:12And now it's Benjamin
23:13He gets taken care of
23:15What is this animal?
23:16Uh, this is a kinkaszu
23:17His name is, uh, Benjamin
23:19Hi, Benjamin
23:20Hi, nice to meet you
23:21Kinkatoos live in the rainforests of Costa Rica
23:25He has a lot of fur, but he's already soft
23:27Mm-hmm
23:28How do we hold him?
23:29He want to kiss you
23:30Mom, you give me a kiss
23:33Benjamin's only 11 months old
23:36He likes snacking on bananas
23:37He is hungry
23:39He's very hungry
23:40Is this the rainforest right here?
23:41Mm-hmm
23:41Exactly
23:42We were going to hike in the rainforests
23:44Costa Rica has lots of beautiful rainforests
23:48And lots of animals that live in them
23:50People bring in injured animals they find to Alvaro
23:53So he can help them get better
23:55Then take them back to the rainforests
23:57Just like Benjamin
23:58See, um
24:01We took a walk through the rainforest to look for more plants and animals
24:05That's a leaf that was eaten by ants
24:10Because some are going one way with the leaves
24:12Sam, did you know that Costa Rica has over 500,000 different types of animals
24:18And that most of them are insects?
24:21Whoa, that's a lot of bugs
24:23Some park rangers came by to drop off some birds that were ready to be released
24:28Is that a parrot?
24:29Yeah, it's a bird
24:30Well, will we let them out?
24:33Mm-hmm, yes
24:34Eventually, Alvaro will take these birds to a quiet spot and release them back into the wild
24:42I don't want a stick
24:43Watch out, Molly
24:45They're wild birds
24:47What's his name?
24:50Ah, Cuca
24:50Cuca is her name
24:52Hola
24:52Hola
24:54Alvaro taught us goodbye in Spanish
24:56Hasta luego
24:57Cuca
24:58Alvaro also has reptiles like caimans
25:02Caimans is Spanish for alligator
25:04How do you call the caimans over?
25:06Ah, with this
25:06Come out, come out, wherever you are
25:23It's just a little guy
25:25The other caimans coming
25:28Is this one?
25:30Yeah
25:30Caiman?
25:31Caiman
25:32Ah
25:32Okay, try
25:34Go right there, I'm saying
25:36Go, Caiman
25:36Very good
25:37Try throwing it, aiming right
25:39Go, Caiman, go, Caiman, go get it
25:41Alvaro doesn't just have baby caimans
25:54He also has baby monkeys
25:56Oh, she's just a baby
25:57Yeah, she's a baby
26:00They're called howler monkeys
26:01Because they sound like they're howling when they talk
26:04How old is she?
26:09She's 11 months old
26:10Just like Benjamin
26:12Yeah, exactly
26:13When she gets a bit older, Alvaro will return her to the rainforest too
26:18Yeah, she's Nena
26:19Hi Nena
26:20Hi Nena
26:21Can we touch her?
26:22Yeah
26:22Is she soft?
26:24Mmm, soft and cute
26:26Oh, she is
26:27Look how big her hands are
26:29Yes, look
26:30Five fingers
26:32Mm-hmm
26:33Can you see?
26:33Just like ours?
26:34Yeah
26:34Five
26:35Four
26:36Ah
26:36Ah
26:37Ah
26:37Ah
26:38Yes
26:39Can I hold her?
26:41Hi
26:41Mm-hmm
26:43I like how they peel the banana
26:53Yeah
26:53Can I hold her?
26:58Uh-oh
26:59Hi Nena
27:02To get Nena ready to return to the wild
27:17Alvaro teaches her what foods to eat in the rainforest
