00:14The main mission of Ms. Magazine was to change the rules

00:24Women's magazines mostly did beauty articles.

00:27Women's interests are much more than how to make meatloaf 12 new ways.

00:32Do you agree with this women's liberation movement?

00:34No, I don't.

00:35It scares a lot of people.

00:37We weren't selling our soul to advertisers.

00:39We had to get by on a shoestring.

00:52We now have all these words like sexual harassment, battered women.

00:56Years ago it was just called life.

00:58That was when the hate mail came in.

00:59My wife isn't doing the dishes anymore.

01:01My wife is refusing to have sex when she's tired.

01:04Other women's magazines ignored sex.

01:07What's the difference between pornography and erotica?

01:09We really did have porno power.

01:11There were definitely differences of opinion among the editors.

01:15There were critiques of Ms. Magazine.

01:17We thought about the issues, but we didn't think about the diversity message

01:21that you embodied simply in your own body.

01:24What I saw was a magazine that learned and evolved.
