00:22Right, first let me give you a little background on myself, um, I started swimming at the age
00:29of four, um, and all the way through college, so I've swam competitively for 18 years, um,
00:35it's impossible to put into words the amount of time and the sacrifices that you make to
00:39compete at that level, um, I've tried for the Olympics twice, I've done some really incredible
00:44things in my career, and so my senior year of college, we were told we would be competing
00:50against biological male Leah Thomas, um, upon looking up who Will Thomas was as a male,
00:56we were able to see that William Thomas, which was his male name, um, was ranked 462nd among
01:03the men, of course, transitioning to female.
01:07Now Leah Thomas was leading every female in the nation that first, yeah, right, um, that
01:14first day of competition at our national championships, which is, of course, the meet where you have
01:19the fastest swimmers in the country come together and race, um, I watched on the side of the
01:24pool as Leah Thomas, again, swam to a national title, beating out Olympians, American record
01:31holders, the most impressive female swimmers of all time by seconds, by body links, so that
01:37next day of competition, Thomas and I competed against each other in the 200 freestyle, and you
01:42asked me how I felt, um, it felt like I was going into this race with my hands tied behind
01:49my back, um, it's impossible, even myself who's put in so much work, so much dedication, so
01:56much time, it felt impossible for me to beat this person who has male advantage, um, males,
02:02of course, they have larger heart, larger lungs, um, of course, they're taller, um, when you
02:08go through puberty as a male, there are irreversible, um, advantages males are given, and that's
02:15obvious, it doesn't take a biologist or a scientist to know that male are, males are advantageous
02:21when it comes to something that requires athleticism and strength.
02:25If I can interrupt you just for a while, because people who say that, uh, transgender competing
02:30against women is something that the science proves that is something that is fair, can you
02:37tell us about, uh, from the point of view of the biology, if this is really fair, what
02:43does the science tells you about that?
02:46We have science that tells us that is not true, um, science has evolved in a way where
02:52we now know even a year, two years, three years on hormone suppressors, it does not change
02:59or make your, it changes your testosterone levels, but it does not make them computable to
03:04the levels of a female, um, the average females testosterone levels is anywhere from 0.8 to
03:101.2 nanomoles per liter.
03:13The average male is 20 times higher than that, um, so even with these men reducing their testosterone
03:20levels, they're not reducing it enough to where it's fair, and even if they were to get
03:26to fair levels, there are still certain things that will never change with hormone suppression.
03:32Like I said, your heart size, your lung size, um, it sounds silly, but even the size of your
03:37throat, men have a 40% larger throat than women, which is a huge factor to success in swimming.
03:43Of course, you want a larger throat to get more air into your body to oxygenate your muscles.
03:48Um, so science tells us this is not fair, and I also think it's kind of ironic that the same
03:53people telling us to follow the science. This is the same people who told us that during
03:59COVID and look at, look at what's happened there. Um, these people are not following the accurate,
04:06real unbiased science. There is simply no credible medical professional whose expertise is in
04:13physiological development, who would tell you that men can be computable with women, even with
04:18testosterone suppression. Other thing is this week here in Brazil on March 8th, the most voted
04:25congressman in the last election, Nicolas Ferreira, he made a speech in the Congress telling that, uh,
04:32women are losing space for transgenders, mainly in competition, in female competition. It's very
04:38curious that the opposite doesn't happen. You don't see a women, a transgender women that became a man
04:43competing against men, you know, in the MMA, UFC, or even soccer, whatever. But the thing is, what is
04:51happening now with Nicolas Ferreira is the left is trying to cancel him, trying to say that his speech
04:58was all about, uh, uh, they say transgender phobia. Do you have something like that in the US? What
05:05happened with you? The left also tried to cancel you in the US? Absolutely. Um, I get labeled all the
05:11time as a transphobe or a bigot, or I'm so hateful and I'm not inclusive. And what I'm doing is not
05:18kind. Um, but in reality, it's not inclusive to allow these, these men to compete with us. It's
05:27exclusive. We're excluding female athletes. It's not kind to do this. Um, and these exact comments that
05:35people comment all the time on my social media, this is the exact reason why more people who are in my
05:40position aren't speaking out. I know how my competitors felt. I know how Leah Thomas's
05:46teammates felt because I've had great conversations with them. Um, and they feel exactly how I feel,
05:51but they're so scared to talk about it because they don't want to be canceled. And I saw that video
05:57and I thought it was incredible. Um, he was kind of making a mockery of the people who are making a
06:04mockery of women. Um, trans women who think womanhood is about long hair and makeup and heels and dresses.
06:15That is not what womanhood is. And it's offensive. It makes a mockery, especially in sports of everything
06:22that I've dedicated my entire life to, um, women are more than just the testosterone level. And we're
06:28more than just the hair and the makeup and the dresses.
