When you become disabled there is suddenly a lot more life admin that you just have to deal with.
00:09
It's just a huge amount of change to every aspect of your life.
00:14
And I just ended up doing nothing and not looking after myself because of it.
00:20
Most people are ordinary people who have extraordinary circumstances
00:24
which changes everything about how their life falls out.
00:29
In terms of their body image, their self-confidence, their ability to go to work, their ability to engage in hobbies.
00:37
And the idea of Stride Forward is to fill that gap by providing mentoring programmes
00:43
to support people in re-engaging in things that they loved or finding new direction.
00:53
We got on from like the minute we met, it was like instant.
00:58
On FaceTime, Holly was like, I think you'll like her.
01:02
I think, I think you guys will get on.
01:06
Seeing Evie and her small wins, that's what I'm never going to forget.
01:11
I've just found it a really rewarding experience.
01:17
Once you get Sean talking about coding, he's just, you know, free-flowing.
01:22
I've learned so much, so much from him and the challenges that he's going through.
01:27
It's quite humbling really, actually.
01:29
Farmers really need both their legs, but Nathan has done amazingly to carry on being a farmer.
01:37
And if I can help in any way with a bit of paperwork, with a bit of signposting, with a bit of support
01:42
and some more chocolate brownies, then I think it's going to be a good year ahead of us.
01:47
Have I been useful?
01:49
Very useful.
01:52
I think the good thing about the relationship is, it's been an opportunity to talk things through, hasn't it?
01:57
Oh, definitely.
01:58
Break things down and then work out how you'd like to go forward.
02:01
It's like you become a close friend and it's like, yay! You can never get enough of them.
02:09
If only more people knew of it, Holly could help a lot more people out there.
02:18
I just asked for someone who had a great fringe and a love of fringes.
02:22
So I got that, that was fine.
02:31
I'm going to have a good afternoon.
02:32
Get back and get a good afternoon.
02:33
I just asked for a little bit of time.
02:34
I love the wind!
02:35
I'm just reading the wind!
02:37
I hope you can do it.
02:38
You can do it.
02:39
I can do it now, because you can do it for me.
02:42
I love it.
02:44
But here's exactly what I call you, guys.
02:47
I guess you've got a good idea.
02:48
You've got a good idea.
02:50
I'm….
02:51
You've got to build great ideas.
02:52
You've got to build a lot of flowers.
02:56
You've got to build a lot of flowers on your society where we're looking at the same.
