00:00Hi guys it's Dave Flinton and I'm the founder of Madlug. Welcome to our HQ and
00:06today I want to take you behind the scenes and take you on a little journey
00:09around the Madlug HQ. Come join me and I'll show you inside.
00:17So here I'm standing in the showroom here at the HQ where we show off all of
00:23our bags. Madlug stands for make a difference luggage and we were simply
00:29set up 10 years ago with this one aim to remove black plastic bin bags out of the
00:34care system and restore dignity into the lives of
00:38children and young people in care. 10 years ago I had no idea how to run a
00:43bag company but behind me you will see our very
00:46first bag. We went on a classic design with a
00:49very bold logo that stands for that make a difference luggage that
00:53shows young people that we see you, we know you, we love you
00:57and this has been our classic. A few months later we launched our duffel bag
01:02and since then we've continued to launch many many products
01:06to basically fulfill our mission to be a company that is about good bags
01:11that does good.
01:16We're now in the operational area of our HQ where we store our bags for all our
01:21online orders as well as post and ship from here. As well as that we have our
01:27giving bags where we distribute them. Why do we distribute bags? What I didn't
01:32tell you in the showroom is that with every bag we
01:36sell we give a pack away travel bag to an incredible child or young person
01:42and care for free so no child carries a life in a bin bag.
01:45Today I've got Chris with me and Chris just tell our our community a little bit
01:51about the bags that we give. So our giving bags were designed for
01:56practicality in mind so every bag comes folded up really small like this
02:01but then folds out into a 35 litre unbranded giving bag.
02:05So what happens is every bag is branded with this message on the front that says
02:10you are incredible so we want to communicate to every child that's moving
02:14through the care system that they are incredible and have huge value worth and
02:18dignity. And how many bags have we given Chris? So we've given over 130,000
02:23bags to date. Amazing. Let's on to the next area.
02:28So now we're sitting in the meeting room upstairs in our HQ.
02:33This is where we get to do teamwork, this is where we get to do
02:36planning, blue sky thinking, finance, planning, all of the stuff that goes with a
02:42day-to-day running off a business that uses its profits to make a difference in
02:48the lives of children and young people in care. As you'll see some of the bags
02:51that we've set around me here is about partnerships. Over the last 10 years
02:56not only have we sold bags to individuals through our online platform
03:01we have had the amazing privilege to partner with many many businesses
03:07right across the whole of the UK and it's been an amazing privilege.
03:11With that we've been able to give more bags to children and young people in care
03:15and see an end to bin bags being used in many areas of the UK even though we have
03:21far more to go in our giving. So we're now in the creative space here at
03:27HQ. It's one of a few that we have where we get to take photographs,
03:31we do video, we do podcasting, we do YouTube series and at the heart of the
03:37Madlog story we need to communicate. Communicate a story
03:41that most children and young people in care have their belongings moved in
03:46black plastic bin bags and lose their dignity. I don't know how you feel when
03:50you hear that story but for me it breaks my heart and at Madlog we're on a
03:55mission to CNN to bin bags being used. I want to invite you
04:00after following through on this little video an introduction to our HQ
04:04to come and be part of this story. How do you be part of this story?
04:08If you choose to buy a Madlog whether you're an individual you go on the
04:12madlog.com or if you're a business you go on the madlog4business.com
04:18and we would love you to join the movement because together
04:22we can make a difference because no child should carry their life in a bin bag.
