00:06On April 12, 2019, a teenage girl named Maya moved into her grandmother's old farmhouse.

00:13After her parents got divorced, her mom bought the house after her and Maya's father split up,

00:18so now Maya could live with her mom on the weekends.

00:21The house was out in the woods.

00:23It was quiet, and honestly, a little eerie.

00:25It was the kind of place where the floors creak even when no one's walking.

00:30The rooms were dusty, the hallways dim.

00:32It felt like the type of place where ghosts hide.

00:35But there was one room that Maya wasn't allowed to explore, the basement.

00:39And there was one rule in that house that her mother enforced from the very first day,
