The United States' strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan, was powered by the precision and power of Tomahawk cruise missiles. In this video, we break down what the Tomahawk really is, how it works, and why it was the weapon of choice for the US Navy in this high-stakes operation.

Launched from submarines over 400 miles away, the Tomahawk is stealthy, deadly, and incredibly accurate, capable of hitting targets within a 10-meter radius. Join us as we explore the history, features, and impact of this legendary missile, and how it played a critical role in escalating the Iran–Israel conflict.

00:00In the wake of the United States' high-profile strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, Fordo,
00:17Netanz and Isfahan, attention has turned to the weapon at the heart of operation — the
00:22Tomahawk cruise missile.
00:24While the World War's U.S. B-2 bombers dropped 30,000 IB MOP bombs on Iran's underground
00:32bunkers, the powerful Tomahawk missiles launched from American submarines played a pivotal role
00:37in the strike's success.
00:45The Tomahawk land-attack missile is one of the U.S. military's most trusted and long-range
00:51precision weapons.
00:53Developed in the 1970s and upgraded over the decades, the missile has been used in nearly
00:58every major U.S. conflict since the Gulf War.
01:02Its design allows it to travel over 1,600 kilometers at low altitudes, making it roughly undetectable
01:09by enemy radar.
01:18Using a combination of GPS, inertial navigation system and terrain counter mapping, it can
01:23strike within a 10-meter radius — an extraordinary feat for missile of its range.
01:28These subsonic missiles cruise at about 890 kilometers per hour and are launched from naval destroyers
01:35and submarines, often without warning.
01:37In this week's Iran operation, U.S. Navy submarines stationed over 400 miles away in the Gulf launched
01:45at at least 30 Tomahawks, according to the U.S. defense officials.
01:49These missiles were directed at Iran's Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities, both more
01:55accessible than the heavily fortified Fordo.
02:05Experts say the Fordo facility, buried under 300 feet of rock and reinforced concrete, required
02:11massive ordnance penetrators dropped from B-2 bombers.
02:16But the shallower's Natanz and Isfahan sites were ideal targets for the Tomahawk's surgical
02:21precision and long reach.
02:24The use of the Tomahawk highlights the U.S. military's preference for standout weapons — those
02:29that can be launched far from enemy defenses, minimizing risks to pilot and aircraft.
02:35Their deployment also allows for rapid surprise attacks that are difficult to intercept.
02:51Tonight America didn't just send a message, it wrote, President Donald Trump called the
02:56strikes a spectacular military success, declaring Iran's nuclear sanctuaries completely and totally
03:02obliterated and warned that the bully of the Middle East must now make peace or face far greater
03:09force.
03:10A short time ago, the U.S. military carried out massive precision strikes on the three key
03:17nuclear facilities in the Iranian regime, Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan.
03:26Everybody heard those names for years as they built this horribly destructive
03:32enterprise.
03:33Our objective was the destruction of Iran's nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the
03:41nuclear threat posed by the world's number one state sponsor of terror.
03:46Tonight I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success.
03:54Iran's key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.
03:59Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace.
04:04If they do not, future attacks will be far greater and a lot easier.
04:09For 40 years, Iran has been saying death to America, death to Israel.
04:14They have been killing our people, blowing off their arms, blowing off their legs with roadside
04:19bombs.
04:20That was their specialty.
04:22We lost over a thousand people and hundreds of thousands throughout the Middle East and
04:27around the world have died as a direct result of their hate.
04:31In particular, so many were killed by their general, Qasem Soleimani.
04:38I decided a long time ago that I would not let this happen.
04:42It will not continue.
04:44I want to thank and congratulate Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu.
04:49We worked as a team like perhaps no team has ever worked before.
04:55Israeli PM Netanyahu echoed the statement, first comes strength, then comes peace, thanking
05:01Trump for decisive action.
05:04But the reverberations go beyond Tehran and Jerusalem.
05:07This was a direct shot across the bow of two global powers.
05:11Russia and China are watching every missile's arc and bunker collapse.
05:18Strength before peace, power before talk.
05:23With its quiet precision and unstoppable reach, the Tomahawk missile just reaffirmed its legacy
05:29as America's go-to weapon for fast, focused and formidable action.
05:34This is modern warfare's new phase, swift, silent and strategically seismic.
