00:00The bullies who laid their hands and beat up a mute and disabled guy inside of us have something serious coming to them.
00:06The disabled and mute guy they beat up is on the early faces of post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD,
00:12and his parents and loved ones want payback pretty badly.
00:15As we hear more from our Noel Calacay.
00:20The culprits must be placed behind bars.
00:23This is the goal of the family of alias MacMac, a person with disability or PWD, who was mauled inside a bus on June 9,
00:32according to their lawyer, attorney Angelo D'Alban.
00:36He says that they have already identified some of the suspects based on the shared viral video.
00:54At kapag yan ay aming na-call up na, then ready na kami.
00:59He stresses that the fact that alias MacMac bites someone inside the bus should not have been reason enough for several people
01:08to beat him up, with one of them even using a teaser gun.
01:13He also says that it's very obvious in MacMac's physical appearance that he is a PWD.
01:20He cannot express himself, and at the same time because of his physical limitations,
01:32The complainant's camp is moving that the case they will actually file.
01:37Ang biktima ay halos nasa 25 years old na, pero bakit child?
01:41Kasi under the law, pag merong intellectual or disability yung bata, yung tao, he could still be considered as a child.
01:50The lawyer also insists that the family of alias MacMac will not agree to any form of settlement
01:56and is determined to pursue the case.
02:04because first, there is really an abuse.
02:08Second, this is a criminal action.
02:10The brother of alias MacMac confirms that the incident caused trauma to his brother.
02:32Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development or DSWD
02:37has already extended assistance to alias MacMac such as providing of psychologists
02:43and financial assistance under the livelihood program of the agency.
03:01The family of alias MacMac, according to their lawyer,
03:05wants to express gratitude to the national government for the help provided to them.
03:20According to Atty. D. Alban, a child abuse case is a grave offense because it's a criminal case.
03:28Once one is found guilty, the suspects might face a sentence of six years' imprisonment.
03:35The family of alias MacMac wants this incident will serve as a lesson and awareness to the public
03:42so that the persons with disabilities can have a freedom to live and have a safe space wherever they go.
03:51Noel Talakay from the National TV Network for New and Better Philippines.
