00:05The remains consist of four funerary bundles found among stone and clay structures in the province of Viru.
00:11Peru is known as the heart of the Inca Empire, but that institution began around the 12th century, according to Britannica.
00:17These remains date much further back, to the time of the Middle East's Mesopotamia.
00:21Head archaeologist Farron Castillo says that the discovery of the four burials, quote,
00:26gives this space an important value, because people wanted to be buried in the temples, like in the Catholic Church.
00:31People for a long time wanted to be buried close to the church, because it was very important, very sacred to them.
