00:00Slaved people know that they were free, two years after former President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
00:06When Lincoln freed the slaves in 1863, it was hard for war to get around.
00:11So by 1865, people in Washington decided we needed to send something to Texas so that they knew that the slaves were free.
00:18So they called the General Order No. 3.
00:20Historians say troops arrived posting handouts of the order.
00:23The only one of these papers still known to exist is on display at the Dallas Historical Society through October 19th.
00:30Celebrating Juneteenth as Emancipation Day also means that we're acknowledging enslavement.
00:36So it gives us a chance to reflect on where we've been and where things are going.
00:41Meanwhile, from Chicago to New York, local leaders have been participating in Juneteenth flag-raising events.
00:47Lift every voice and shake.
00:51While former President Biden, who established Juneteenth as a federal holiday, will celebrate at a historical church in Galveston on Thursday,
00:59other local Juneteenth events have been forced to adapt this year, after many have reported losing financial sponsors,
01:06citing pushbacks surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.
01:09In 2025, the celebrations of Juneteenth, I think, are reflecting the sort of bifurcation that we see across politics.
01:17Chris DiMaio, Fox News.
01:21All right, thank you to Chris DiMaio there with Fox News.
01:25We are going to go away for a break right now.
01:27When we come back, much more news to get to, as well as checking in with Christina Evans on all our Juneteenth coverage.
06:32The hurricane's center was located about 20 miles east of Punta Maldonado.
06:37It's maximum sustained winds were locked in at 125 miles per hour.
06:42It was moving northwest at 9 miles per hour, according to the Hurricane Center.
06:46The storm was downgraded.
06:48The storm was downgraded slightly before making landfall from a powerful Category 4 to a Category 3 hurricane, and that is how it eventually did make landfall there in Mexico.
06:59While slightly reduced in power, Eric is still considered a major hurricane as a Category 3, which carries winds up to 129 miles per hour.
07:07I do want to bring this live here.
07:08I do want to bring this live look also that we have down there in the beaches of Mexico.
07:13Eric is expected to rapidly weaken over the mountains of Mexico, and the system is likely to dissipate late Thursday or early Friday, according to the Hurricane Center.
07:23The storm threatened to unleash destructive winds near where the eye catches ashore.
07:28Flash floods and a dangerous storm surge are also expected, according to forecasters.
07:34And we're seeing here that the camera just panning out a little bit there just to give us a wider look as to what the conditions look like at this time.
07:43But Eric becoming the first major hurricane of this 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, and they're touching down in Mexico, as you see.
07:54Now, late Wednesday, Eric's projected path crept south closer to the resort of Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca State and centered on a sparsely populated stretch of coastline between the Oaxaca resort and Acapulco to the northwest.
08:07And that's what we're taking a look at here.
08:09So I just wanted to bring this latest breaking news as we are continuing to coverage some of these major storms developing this Atlantic hurricane season.
08:18At the same time, we are also continuing to follow the global conflicts that are happening, specifically with Israel and Iran.
08:26And right now we are seeing that it does look like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be taking questions.
08:33Let's see if they're in English.
08:39Let's see if we have a look at the same time.
08:41We are seeing that it's not only about the same time, but also about the same time.
08:42Let's see if we are in English and about the same time.
08:46And I think that in the war, we have to pick up the words in the investigation and in the investigation and in the investigation and in the investigation.
08:53This is what I want, not only from myself but also from my servants and of us all.
08:58To stand up in speech, to stand up in the investigation.
09:02Thank you very much.
09:32So as you can see here, the Israeli Prime Minister not answering any of those questions in English. He is, however, at the site of the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba in the south of Israel, and that was hit after an Iranian strike targeted the area early on Thursday morning. The strike came as Israel struck Iran's Iraq heavy water reactor.
09:57I want to read some of the reporting on this. At least 240 people were wounded by Iranian missiles, four of them seriously, according to Israel's health ministry. The vast majority were lightly wounded, including more than 70 people from that medical center in the southern city of Beersheba, where smoke rose as emergency teams evacuated patients.
10:19Now, in the aftermath of the strikes, the Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz blamed Iran's supreme leader and said the military, quote, has been instructed and knows that in order to achieve all of its goals, this man absolutely should not continue to exist.
10:34I'm going to lift up the audio one more time and see if perhaps he'll make some remarks in English. It's possible not, but let's see.
10:40So the questions and answers continue to be in Hebrew.
11:07If that does change, we'll bring you those remarks. For now, I do want to pivot, though, to some remarks that we heard earlier on today that we did showcase briefly, as we are hearing from Iranian representatives, specifically to the United Nations, as they also discuss this ongoing conflict.
11:25This was given for a panel of the UN's Human Rights Council. Let's watch.
11:30The UN's Human Rights Council is considering the situation of human rights in Iran.
11:40There has been no violation worse than 13 June Act of Aggression against Iran.
11:47Tremendous human rights consequences of such heinous, unprovoked, and unjustified offenses, including continuous blind attacks on residential areas, bombardment of vital supplies, explosion of drinking water resources, and reckless strikes on nuclear facilities, are immediately impacting the civilians and people of Iran.
12:12These continuous brutalities are the direct result of a normalized impunity, and though to this genocidal regime, a regime that during the last 77 years has developed its sinister talents in violation of human rights, breach of international law, and compliance in all kinds of crimes against humanity.
12:38The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:08The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:09The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:10The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:11The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:12The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:13The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:14The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:15The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:16The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:17The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:18The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:19The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:20The UN's Human Rights Council is the UN's Human Rights Council.
13:21almost nothing from those self-proclaimed champions of human rights who must set their
13:27efforts to hold 35th special session of the Human Rights Council.
13:33None of them are concerned of human rights consequences of attack on peaceful nuclear
13:38facilities of Natanz and Fordo.
13:41The deliberate targeting of Iran's nuclear facilities not only constitutes a grave violation
13:46of international law and UN Charter, but also risks exposition of all people in our neighborhood
13:54to possible hazardous leak.
13:57This is not an act of war against our country, it is war against humanity.
14:04Deputy High Commissioner, Israeli, this ruthless entity is trying to buy credibility for itself
14:11by wrestling with great and ancient Iran.
14:14It was their long-waiting dream.
14:18But how and from where?
14:21Through a land that they have usurped, by weapons that they have borrowed, with people who they
14:27have brainwashed, and more telling than that, with their insatiable savages increased through
14:35international systemic impunity bestowed to them.
14:40This impunity must come to end.
14:42Israel activities are not just against one or two countries.
14:47It is acting against all humanity, and their actions target all human rights.
14:54The Israel regime's supporters and the United States at the forefront should know that supporting
15:00this regime means directly supporting international humanitarian and human rights violations, aggression,
15:09crimes against humanity, and war crimes.
15:11As a result, along with the regime's agents, they must be responsible and accountable for
15:18their positions and actions.
15:20As a result, Iran is standing still before a destructive and notorious entity, now that Iran is paying
15:32the cost of standing before aggression of a significant violator of international order and human rights,
15:40It is an obligation that international officials to use outright language in condemnation of this brutal regime.
15:51They shouldn't use any vague language in condemning the occupier and aggressor.
15:56Using such languages will further embolden this awkward entity.
16:02To conclude, Iran insists that the huge level of violation of human rights of Iranian people,
16:11including their right to safety, territorial integrity, and prosperity, must be considered
16:17in any report or reference to the situation of human rights in Iran.
16:22The Islamic Republic of Iran has never allowed aggressors to its interests and its territorial integrity to act
16:28with impunity, and expects the international community to do the same.
16:34Iran will never let the violator to target human rights of its people.
16:38A strong and united Iran will take all lawful, hefty, and resolute measures to defend its sovereignty
16:45and territorial integrity.
16:49Muchas gracias, Embajador.
16:51Thank you, Ambassador.
16:54This brings us to the…
16:56So, as we continue to showcase here some of the remarks from earlier today, featuring
17:02Iran's UN Ambassador to the United Nations, speaking to a Human Rights Council panel there,
17:10discussing the conflict with Israel.
17:13I do want to pivot because earlier we showcased as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
17:18was taking some questions down there at the site of the latest Iranian strike,
17:23and it does appear that he's taking a couple of them in English.
17:26So let's head to that.
17:28President Trump will do what's best for America.
17:41I trust his judgment.
17:42He's a tremendous friend, a tremendous world leader, a tremendous friend of Israel and the
17:46Jewish people.
17:47And we will do what we have to do, and we are doing it.
17:50We are committed to destroying the nuclear threat, the threat of a nuclear annihilation
17:57against Israel.
17:58We're able to do it.
18:00And we, of course, will make our own determination.
18:03But I have to say that the partnership with the United States, the partnership with President
18:07Trump, with whom I speak to almost every day, is incredible.
18:11I think his resolve, his determination, and his clarity, when he says Iran cannot have a
18:18nuclear weapon, and for that to take place, Iran cannot enrich uranium.
18:24It's as simple as that.
18:26He gave them the chance to do it through negotiations.
18:29They strung him along.
18:32You don't string along Donald Trump.
18:34He knows the game.
18:36And I think that we're both committed to making sure that Iran will not have a nuclear weapon.
18:42And they won't.
18:43And your heart of hearts, is the United States going to come on board and help you with these
18:47strikes?
18:48That's a decision for the President to make.
18:50But I can tell you that they're already helping a lot, because they're participating in the
18:55protection of the skies over Israel and its cities, with TAD missile batteries that
19:00are in Israel, with Aegis ships that are on the shore of Israel, with their pilots that are
19:05fighting alongside our pilots to knock out drones.
19:08I think it's a remarkable cooperation.
19:10One last question.
19:11AP?
19:12No question.
19:13No question.
19:14Thank you very much.
19:15Thank you very much.
19:16Let's see.
19:17Let's see.
19:48So as we can see here, the Prime Minister kind of going back to Hebrew after answering
19:55a question in English.
19:56I don't want to move away from this, so if he does go back to English, he did speak a
20:02lot about the help that the U.S. has been provided, especially given the recent developments
20:07between Israel and Iran.
