00:00So I'm here today with Mike Ryan who's completing the equivalent of the Parish
00:03Walk using a hand crank machine. So Mike how's it going?
00:07Yeah surprisingly better than I thought. Yeah the things I expected to cause me
00:14problems have held up. Have you had any breaks and have you had time to yourself?
00:19Yeah I had a couple of breaks. I grabbed a bike to eat which took a
00:27little bit longer than I expected so I lost a bit of time there but yeah yeah
00:33I've got to stop. So obviously my hands are in action doing this so it's
00:37difficult to carry out sort of any drinks or taking on sugars and what have
00:44you. Yeah and is it painful? Is it tough to do? Yeah it's sore on the hands like
00:51pressure, sore sore rather than so it's not so I'm sure people have had blister pain
01:00it's not like that yeah it's more like if you've knocked the palm of your hand
01:05yeah kind of that feeling yeah but shoulders holding up quite well back's a
01:12bit sore but it's sore when I'm watching a film so. And obviously you raise the money for a great charity as well which
01:17bridge the gap. Can you talk a little bit about that as well? Yeah so I think it's great
01:20so it's we've all been through school yeah you don't have to have anything wrong
01:27here and you can get bullied for anything or even just name calling you know tall
01:33short fat thin color any anything you know the list goes on. Add to that any kind of
01:43clinical reason whatever that might be and you can easily if you're not careful
01:51socially isolate a child even more. Bridge the gap gives those children somewhere
02:01where always say if you fill a room like say for instance we filled a room with and
02:09everyone in it was had a wheelchair yeah wheelchairs are invisible now yeah because
02:14everyone's got one yeah um so if you've got a group where every child has something
02:22something uh that they live with it doesn't matter how big or small it then sort of can
02:28become invisible yeah for them because you know they all share some kind of issue so uh
02:37i think i think that's great it's it's a different kind of environment it's not a doctor telling you
02:43it's not a nurse telling you it's not your parents telling you yeah so you know they can get mentored
02:50and kind of geared a little bit differently yeah yeah you know so how much money you aiming to raise
02:57what was the target so the aim was 500 pounds originally um i believe we've passed that yeah
03:04um i don't know what the figure is at the moment and a bit busy today yeah um but uh yeah you know it's
03:11it's oh yeah it's great anyway whatever it is so i'm happy
03:17i don't know
03:28let's get it done now people are wanting one more
03:30i want to go home you got this mike we've been okay for this
03:44hey
03:58come stop you
