Zaya Wade may be only 17, but she’s already an icon—and we want to know *everything* about her. The model and influencer played 17 Questions behind the scenes of her Seventeen cover shoot, spilling the deets on the unexpected fashion trend she’s excited about and the shoe style she’s SO over—leaving everyone in the studio a little embarrassed 😅. Step into Zaya’s world as she shares the moment she’s most proud of her dad, Dwyane Wade, the best advice she’s received from stepmom Gabrielle Union, and her big dreams for the future—whether that’s becoming an award-winning scientist, a fashionista to the gods, or maybe even both! 💁‍♀️

00:00Hey, I'm Ziya Wade. I'm here with Seventeen, and this is Seventeen Questions.
00:08Lots and lots of coffee, the answer to a lot of questions.
00:12Music, good music, and laughs with a bunch of friends.
00:20Oh, this might be controversial, but a bubble skirt, I said it.
00:27If you could work with any other model, who would it be?
00:30I don't care. Easy.
00:32Were you nervous walking in Paris Fashion Week?
00:34I was so nervous, but my family and team were so wonderful.
00:39They basically handled the whole thing for me, so I just had to just make sure I did it right.
00:46What was the best day you ever had?
00:47Definitely the day that my name got legalized.
00:50Officially Ziya.
00:54What are your number one tips for acing AP classes?
00:57Lots and lots and lots of coffee.
00:59Lots and lots and lots of notes that take way too long.
01:04And reaching out to friends and teachers, like you.
01:07I know. Thank you. Thank you.
01:10I mean, you never was. You also are mine.
01:14What's your favorite thing about your personality?
01:16Um, probably that it changes depending on whoever I'm around.
01:22Fill in the blanks. I always blank and I never blank.
01:25Well, one, I always laugh. And two, I never leave my mouth open. I always cover it.
01:34Who was the last person to leave you starstruck?
01:38Uh, T.S. Madison. We were watching a fashion show together.
01:43What's an unpopular opinion you have?
01:45I don't like loafers. I'm sorry. I know. We live in California, so that's really touchy, but...
01:51How passionate do you feel about this take?
01:53Very. Very.
01:58I'm sorry. I'm sorry to go for the loafer, people on set. Guys, I'm sorry. I just can't with the loafer anymore.
02:04Hey, girl. Hey, girl. My two questions for you are, one, what song do you have on repeat right now?
02:13And the second part of the question, who's your favorite, like, newly discovered artist?
02:18Ooh, song on repeat. Balloon, um, by Tyler, the creator, featuring Jochi.
02:23And then on that note, Jochi, like, we're all on Jochi right now, like...
02:27As you should be.
02:29Exactly. Lyric, lyric, lyric. Thank you.
02:31How do you turn around a bad day?
02:35A nice face time with friends, meditation, and the longest of showers.
02:41What's one place on your travel bucket list?
02:43Oh my god, that's so hard. There are so many places. Um, I'm gonna list more than one. Sorry.
02:47Singapore, India, Brazil.
02:51How would your besties describe you in three words?
02:53Dramatic. Funny. Probably mean. But I'm not really mean.
03:02Your dad is outspoken about how proud he is of you. Describe a moment you were proud of him.
03:07Well, I have a lot of material to pull from, but I guess the most recent is when he got his statue.
03:12I can't express just how proud I was that he had something like that to represent all that he's done.
03:17What's the best advice your stepmom, Gabrielle Union, has given you?
03:22Block out all of that hatred, because none of it matters, like, at all.
03:26It took a long time for me to really get what that meant, but here I am.
03:33Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
03:35Probably, hopefully, as an award-winning scientist and a fashionista to the gods.
03:42I actually look for an example in the early days.
03:59What have you been here when I was about to see myself in 10 years?
04:01I'm seeing you guys out there in the early days, right?
04:03I'm going to give a chance if you really see myself in the early days.
04:05This very well.
04:05I was just waiting to hear you.
04:07I'm going to hear you.
04:08I'm going to hear you guys tell me.
04:08You can hear me.
04:10I'm going to hear you.
04:10I'm going to hear you.
04:11I'm going to hear you.
