गुजरात के इतिहास में पहली बार इतनी बड़ी मेडिकल चुनौती का सामना किया गया, जब 12 जून को हुए विमान हादसे के बाद मात्र 13 घंटों में 270 से ज्यादा शवों का पोस्टमॉर्टम किया गया। इस अभूतपूर्व कार्य में 144 डॉक्टरों, फॉरेंसिक एक्सपर्ट्स और डेंटल टीमों ने हिस्सा लिया। साथ ही, 266 DNA सैंपल एकत्र किए गए, ताकि मृतकों की शिनाख्त कर उनके परिजनों तक शव भेजा जा सके।

00:15DNA samples around 266. Out of 274 dead bodies were done the post-mortems.

00:27And on that part, we had received all the DNA results soon and now within 48 hours, we had issued, we had dispatched the dead bodies to the relatives.
00:39When the government of Gujarat received the information regarding the aeroplane class at Amdabad near the civil hospital campus,
00:45all the doctors from each and every district parts from the Amdabad regional districts, we came here,
00:55including the doctors from the medical college, from the Vijaya Medical College, medical college from the Gandhinagar, medical college from the Sola Civil.
01:03All the doctors we accumulated here.
01:06And according to the golden hours periods, we had dedicated to the teams around 140 doctors were there in that team.
01:14And we had assigned the duties. We had tagged each and every dead bodies.
01:19And then after we had started the post-mortem, post-mortem on the basis of the police inquest, we had divided the teams, first 10, first 10 and second 10.
01:28And we had planned for the three portions, one in the trauma center, old post-mortem room and the other areas.
01:35All the doctors had started simultaneously the post-mortem as the inquests are coming.
01:40On the basis of the dead body's conditions, we had planned each and every dead bodies from the Air India Crest.

01:55And each and every team have a one medical officer, one forensic expert and one FSL person, one from the dental college.
02:03We had finished all these post-mortem within 13 hours. It is our great success for the government of Gujarat.

02:13We had finished all the tasks within the 13 hours, around before 5 a.m. early in the morning.
02:20We had handed over all the DNA samples around 266. Out of 274 dead bodies were done the post-mortems.
02:28And then after all these samples will be sent by the civil hospital Amdabad, the ambulance and on that part we had received all the DNA results soon and now within 48 hours we had issued, we had dispatched the dead bodies to the relatives.
