00:00What in the world is going on between the IDF and the Khutis?

00:11The Khutis, also known as the Ansar Ala movement, is an Iranian-backed terrorist organization

00:18based in Yemen that has held significant influence in the country's political and military scene for decades.

00:24So, how did they get to where they are today?

00:27Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran has been trying to spread its influence throughout the region,

00:32using proxies in places like Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Iraq and Yemen.

00:37In the early 90s, the rebel group started to make its name through terrorism and violence

00:41and quickly became yet another one of Iran's proxies.

00:44The group was initially founded in northern Yemen under religious and political aspects

00:48and since then received significant support from Iran, both militarily and politically.

00:53In 2014, the Khutis took over the Yemeni government and launched a civil war.

00:58Throughout the conflicts, the Khutis gained significant territory and influence throughout Yemen.

01:02Today, Yemen's capital city, Sana'a, and many other parts of the country are under the Khutis' control.

01:17But the Khutis aren't only a threat to the Middle East.

01:19Their goal is to reach the Western world, as their slogan says,

01:22Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse be the Jews.

01:26In January 2022, the Khutis gained control of the strategically important Al-Chudeda port.

01:31Since then, they have launched over 200 attacks to the State of Israel,

01:34including firing over 150 UAVs, 50 cruise missile and some ballistic missiles.

01:40These attacks hit civilian infrastructure, including homes, an elementary school and a children's playground.

01:45In the end, the Khutis are a threat to everyone.

01:47The Yemeni population, who have been living under a humanitarian crisis for years because of the Khutis regime,

01:52and the Western world having to deal with the consequences of another one of Iran's proxies threatening regional stability.

01:58Israel and the IDF will not tolerate such acts of terrorism and will defend ourselves on any front.
