00:13I grew up with very adventurous parents.

00:15I was in the mountains when I was a baby.

00:17And at some point a desire was born to go even to more remote places

00:21that you could not drive to.

00:23And Antarctica was a dream that I had to visit.

00:30Leading expedition means that I'm responsible for all of the activities

00:35that we do outside of the vessel.

00:39But for me it's mainly focusing on offering guests an amazing experience

00:42in those remote places and leading a team of 24 expedition staff

00:47in how to give the best experience to our guests.

00:50A big part of expedition cruising is teaching people about the environment.

00:54We have marine biologists on board.

00:56We have historians on board, ornithologists on board.

00:58So people have an in-depth knowledge on those topics.

01:02To share that passion with the guests and then get back that enthusiasm.

01:07Yeah, it's a very highly dynamic, highly intense environment.

01:11But also extremely rewarding.

01:15I love living a little bit in uncertainty sometimes.

01:18It makes you feel incredibly alive.

01:20There's parts of the world where we don't dictate anything.

01:23And we have to work with what nature gives us.

01:26The entertainment is not on board, it's outside.

01:30And I always or nearly always say to the guests, look around you.

01:33Because that is something that is like nowhere else on earth.

01:36It is unique.
