Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier will rightly be linked with a potential move away as he enters the final year of his St James' Park deal. But the Geordie Journos don't see any reason why the Magpies would let him go.
00:00Unless there's money on the table, and I mean 15 million for a player in the last year of his contract, potentially, but right now, and I know he's probably on the big earners, I don't see any real need to get rid of him. I think maybe from the player's side, there's potentially, potentially, he might want to go.
00:19Nick, you don't have to qualify, you know he wants to go.
00:22Yeah.
00:22Just say it.
00:23But I think Newcastle, to keep them as, I mean, if you lose him there, you're back in a right-back situation of Dean Leverett and Emile Craft.
00:30I just think you lose a lot of depth. I just think Kieran Trippier, for how long he's got left on his contract, and what he's worth in Newcastle, I just don't think there's really, unless there's proper money on the table, a reason to get rid of him.
00:41Yeah, there's no footballing reason for me to get rid of Kieran Trippier.
