00:00Wales' Jonny Clayton says he and teammate Gerwin Price are aiming to do some damage
00:07at the 2025 World Cup of Arts in Frankfurt starting on Thursday.
00:12The pair champions in 2020 and 2023 will go head-to-head with England favourites Luke Humphreys and Luke Littler.
00:20Clayton, seeded second, believes the spotlight on England is misplaced.
00:24All the talk is about the two Lukes, but I'm here and I'm sure me and Gezi can do something about that.
00:30He said, Gezi is on a great run of form and I'm a pretty good number two.
00:35Hopefully we'll do some damage this year.
00:38Both men have entered the tournament in strong form in May.
00:42Clayton claimed his third European Tour title at the Dutch Darts Championship.
00:46However, he stumbled in the Nordic Darts Masters quarterfinals, losing 6-3 to Stephen Bunting.
00:54Price has also been impressive in 2025.
00:56He reached the Premier League finals in Dublin and Nottingham, claiming 9th, 3 and 6 titles by defeating Humphreys, Littler and Aspinall.
01:07He also won three Players' Championship events and a Pro Tour title.
01:11At the recent Nordic Darts Masters, he set a tournament record average but lost in the semi-finals.
01:17But, you know, I'm just glad that I proved to myself that I've still got the game in me and, you know, when I'm positive and I'm in the right frame of mind that I can beat anyone and I can still play to the high standards that I know I can.
01:30Though England's pairing is top seeded, Price agrees they are clear favourites.
01:36There's no reason why they're not favourites, but there are a lot of good teams, he said.
01:42As one of the top four seeds with England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, Wales begin in round two on Saturday with best of 15 doubles matches until a best of 19 final.
01:53Clayton believes their rugby-style teamwork gives them an edge in high-pressure doubles.
01:59We go out as a team, you have to believe in your teammates, he said.
02:04Clayton added, there's no better feeling than representing Wales when they put on that jersey.
02:09I'm so proud and I'm sure we can go far once again.
