Joe DeLeone and Ryan Roberts dive deep into the Brandon Arrington highlights that prove why this 2026 5-star athlete is dominating both football and track.
Transcript
00:00You won't believe how fast Brandon Arrington is.
00:03We break down the film to show his elite speed in today's video.
00:11Brandon Arrington could end up being the fastest player in college football.
00:15He's already broken records held by Olympian Noah Lyles.
00:20Ryan, what do college football fans need to know about this kid?
00:24Well, now that we've seen a Travis Hunter in college football, Joe,
00:27we always have to ask ourselves naturally the question of these guys
00:30that could be three-way stars, both offense, defense, and special teams,
00:33if it could be translatable to the college level.
00:36Because there are some colleges that have recruited, obviously,
00:39Brandon Arrington as a corner.
00:40There's others that are recruiting him as a wide receiver.
00:41He's also a dynamic kick returner for his high school as well.
00:45So this is a kid that can pretty much do whatever he wants on the football field.
00:48You talk about that straight line speed, that translates.
00:51He also has length for days.
00:52So we're going to have a nice debate of wide receiver versus corner.
00:55But ultimately, this kid is a dynamic, athletic, long athlete
01:00that is one of the fastest players we've seen come out of high school football
01:02in several years.
01:04One of my favorite things about breaking down high school recruits,
01:08which we've been doing a lot more on this channel,
01:10is the absurdity sometimes of watching athletes like Arrington
01:15go up against other kids that know knocking those kids
01:18that aren't going to play college sports.
01:20It's comical watching how fast Arrington moves compared to these guys.
01:24And half the time, it doesn't even look like he's going full effort.
01:27And I'm not saying that he's dogging it,
01:29but for how much he's playing and how much he's on the field,
01:32I'm sure he's getting a little bit more tired compared to other players.
01:35But he doesn't need to go full bore, full speed every single rep
01:38in order to be faster than most players.
01:41Whatever side of the ball that he plays on, Ryan,
01:43he's going to be super impactful for a team's success.
01:47And another thing that we always talk about with these guys that are speedy,
01:50it's an early entryway to contribute as a true freshman,
01:53whether it's as a kicker turner or it's as a gadget receiver in any facet,
01:58kind of like what Zachariah Branch did when he burst onto the scene at USC.
02:03Yeah.
02:03Well, the interesting part about Arrington is the name's Dash, by the way.
02:06I feel like we need to throw that one out there
02:08because it's an awesome nickname.
02:09But he is a legit 6'1 plus with long legs.
02:13So he's one of those guys that he doesn't look as fast occasionally
02:17as he actually is just because he's got a little bit of that long striding look to him, right?
02:22So it doesn't make him look incredibly fast.
02:24But then he just pulls away from dudes and he has these insane angles.
02:28Just some of the range that he has as a tackler in space
02:33and as a player on offense just catching a screen
02:37or taking something short and being able to turn up field
02:39or as a kick returner changing direction and reversing field.
02:43He does all those things so natural.
02:45And I do like him because you know how I am, Joe.
02:48I'm more of the – he's probably a more rare corner
02:50than he is a wide receiver potentially long term.
02:53So I really would love him to play corner
02:54because the cool thing about him too is I don't want this to just be about speed.
02:58Arrington is also wiry strong as well.
03:01Like you see both of his ability to catch the football after the catch
03:04but then also at cornerback, excuse me, this kid has some good play strength.
03:08He's been able to play through contact pretty well
03:10and he's long and explosive.
03:12So him as like a boundary corner at the next level
03:14I think is a really fun proposition
03:16but he can do whatever he wants ultimately on a field.
03:19Pulling up where he stands in this class,
03:21he is ranked as the number two athlete in the 2026 class,
03:26the number two recruit in the state of California
03:28and the number 29 overall recruit in the country.
03:32As I mentioned, speed, it shows up in how he performs in track.
03:37He is a tremendous runner and wouldn't be surprised
03:40if we're not talking about him as somebody who is participating
03:43in Olympic events if he decides to go that route as well.
03:46If he wants to.
03:48I mean, I don't even know if he plans on doing both in college
03:51but he certainly can.
03:52Like there's going to be a lot of track programs
03:54that are going to want him to be that dual sport kid
03:56potentially on the next level.
03:57But yeah, man, I mean, he's one of those kids, Joe,
04:00and we come around these kids a lot
04:02that just kind of make everything they do look very easy
04:05and just kind of are good at whatever they do.
04:07Like that's the natural athleticism ultimately.
04:09But yeah, whatever program ultimately he ends up on,
04:12whether it's a wide receiver or corner,
04:14he's going to be an impact player very early on in his career.
