00:00We're back here in Cardiff Bay with First Minister's Questions, as Alina Ed Morgan takes questions from party leaders about issues that matter here in Wales.
00:09There's been a bit of a theme in recent months that revolves around Miss Morgan answering for supposed mistakes from her Labour colleagues in Westminster.
00:16And this week, of course, is absolutely no different.
00:19One of the big political stories recently has been Rachel Reeves' U-turn on winter fuel payments for pensioners,
00:25which she says will be brought back this winter for millions of older people.
00:29The move has been largely welcomed across the political board, but Tory leader Darren Miller feels that brushing the issue under the carpet is unfair.
00:37Alina Ed Morgan shouldn't have stood by when the payment stopped last winter.
00:41First Minister, yesterday we saw a screeching U-turn on the winter fuel allowance by Rachel Reeves,
00:47after considerable pressure from the Conservative Party, both here in Wales and indeed at Westminster.
00:54And you will know that over half a million Welsh pensioners were deprived of their winter fuel payments last year,
01:02leaving some very vulnerable people with the unenvious choice of having to choose between heating and eating.
01:09It's an absolute disgrace.
01:11Look, I'm absolutely delighted that the Prime Minister has listened to the concerns of pensioners across Wales and across the rest of the country.
01:19This was certainly something that came up on my listening exercise last summer.
01:24And I'm really pleased that because we have made representations to the Prime Minister on this issue that he has changed his mind and that will make a difference.
01:36The Plaid Cymru leader has long had a focus on fairer funding for Wales, which Alina Ed Morgan also says is a goal for her Welsh Labour government.
01:43And one issue that they seem to be on the same sides of the track is rail funding.
01:48According to Trina Biorworth and Alina Ed Morgan, Wales isn't getting their fair share of rail funding.
01:53And that issue is no clearer than HS2.
01:55And a recent project between Oxford and Cambridge feels the same issue all over again.
02:00The Plaid Leader says Labour did it on purpose.
02:03Because she told me that Oxford to Cambridge, a major new rail scheme wholly in England, being classed England and Wales was just normal.
02:13Wales losing out on hundreds of millions of pounds.
02:15Yes, she'd make the case for more, but that's just how it is.
02:18But since then, we have found that just like Crossrail, the Elizabeth line in London, Oxford Cambridge was classed as England only by the Treasury for four years.
02:31We were getting our share until Labour actively moved the goalposts.
02:37Labour went out of its way to make sure Wales wouldn't get the money when the big spending really began.
02:44I've been clear and I've been consistent when it comes to rail funding that we have not been getting our fair share of funding in a position that the Tories left us with for over a decade.
