00:00The Crown Estate is a massive land and property portfolio stretching across the UK. It's owned
00:07but not directly operated by the Crown and all money raised goes straight into the UK
00:11Government's coffers. In Scotland though, it's managed by a separate Scottish entity
00:15and that money goes into the Scottish Government's budget. Plaid Cymru recently raised a proposal
00:20in Westminster to bring Welsh Crown Estate holdings in line with Scotland and bring responsibility
00:26for it into Wales. The Welsh Government have said this is also what they'd like to see
00:30but their counterparts in Westminster voted against the plans. It puts Welsh Labour and
00:35the wider UK Labour Party at direct odds with one another and while they sometimes disagree
00:40with some issues, this is one of the biggest and most impactful disagreements the party
00:44has seen. The Senate are currently on a recess and will return next week and there's no doubt
00:50that questions will be raised over the issue and the First Minister will have to explain
00:54her feelings moving forward with a party so uniquely divided.
