00:00So Deputy First Minister will you join with me in welcoming the All-Ireland
00:04Pipe Band Championships to Everton this summer and in recognising the positive
00:08social, cultural and economic benefits that our marching band scene bring here
00:13in Northern Ireland. Thank you, yes absolutely fantastic that the Everton
00:18site will be hosting this spectacular display in terms of the Pipe Band
00:23Championships. It is estimated that there will be in around 10,000 there so I would
00:29really appeal if you're around the area do travel there it's going to be a
00:33really really good day and I know the folks up in the Northwest are really
00:37looking forward to it. The First Minister and myself had the opportunity to
00:39formally launch that as well so really looking forward to that and indeed it
00:45does play into the incredible depth and richness that we have here in our
00:49marching band scene. I was really pleased that my colleague Gordon Lyons was able
00:53to increase that fund but as the member knows there is much more demand than what
00:58has been supplied so this year of course we are looking forward to trying to
01:01support our marching band scene again. It's not just in terms of the value that
01:06that gives to the members of the bands, the music that they play but it's also
01:09that value that they give back in terms of the amount of money that the band
01:13scene generates within and across the years as well and it is important that we
01:17do recognise the value of that and we're very very proud of our marching band
01:22scene here in Northern Ireland.
