00:00Last week on Monday Night Raw, he got involved and, well, he paid for it by Seth and company.
00:21It's about the, exactly what you would expect, messing with the power trio of Seth, Bronson Reed and Braun Breaker, massive tsunami, no one's ribs feel good after that, but followed it up at SmackDown, getting sucker punched by Logan Paul, and then AA'd by John Cena, this was just three days ago, last Friday, and a massive Braun Splash to boot, and then 24 hours after this,
00:50at Money in the Bank, this devastating moonsault through our announce desk from Logan Paul, pretty much the worst prep week possible ahead of tonight's showdown with Gunther for the World Heavyweight Champion.
01:04Yeah, but that's just the past seven days, Wade. Jay Uso's been going non-stop since he beat this man back in April at WrestleMania.
01:12Welcome to being World Heavyweight Champion, Jay, something this man knows a thing or two about.
01:20For the Ring General, Gunther, an opportunity to write what he believes is a wrong.
01:29He lost to Uso at WrestleMania.
01:31Gunther tonight, hoping to regain his World Heavyweight title.
01:35What's interesting is Jay Uso's been having all these matches, carrying the Torch's champion, continually putting himself out there, making appearances around the world every night that he's not in a wrestling ring.
02:00Meanwhile, since WrestleMania, Wade Gunther's had one match, and that was against Pat McAfee, back in May, at Backlash.
02:08Gunther is rested, he's focused, he's determined.
02:11Well, that is part and parcel of being a champion in WWE.
02:16Gunther knows it well, he spent 80-plus percent of his time, I forget the stat, being a champion over here, and he's staring a hole right through you right now, Michael Cole.
02:28I have nothing but the utmost respect for this man.
02:31You've got ghosts in your eyes right now.
02:33All the blood has drained out of your body, and if Gunther decides once again to attack you, I will not be jumping in.
02:42It's all yours, big man.
02:48This man casts a giant shadow over all of us, and with that shadow comes a massive amount of fear.
02:57But Michael Cole, perhaps, needs to change his pants right now.
03:01Well, Wade, I said I learned a lot about respect, respecting this man after his battle with my buddy Pat McAfee.
03:12Joking and fun goes out the window when this man arrives.
03:16Tonight is a night for business.
03:20Laser focused on recapturing what he feels is rightfully his.
03:25The world heavyweight championship crown.
03:34Ooh, I bet you're a relieved man, Michael Cole.
03:37Yeah, it was a bit nerve-wracking.
03:39Too close for comfort, right?
03:41I think we can relax a little for now.
03:43Let me advise you and the world heavyweight champion, Gillsmaker's Entrance.
03:47Maybe for once, maybe for once, just don't yeet.
03:51Might be an idea, just for tonight.
03:54I certainly will not.
03:57Yeah, you know what?
03:58That's probably really good advice.
04:00I've never heard Michael Cole so quiet.
04:03It's actually fantastic.
04:04I think Comfort should come and stroll past our desk, maybe five or six times a night, just to keep you in check.
04:11The man who loves to be champion, cannot look in the mirror and see himself without a championship.
04:30Most of his career, he's held gold.
04:32We are sold out tonight.
04:46Phoenix, Arizona, over 14,000 on hand as we prepare for our main event.
04:53For the 21st time, this city has hosted Monday Night Raw, and tonight the World Heavyweight Championship is on the line.
05:00Main event, Jey Uso defending the title against the man that he beat at WrestleMania, the ring general, Gunther.
05:08He was the world champ for 259 days.
05:11The intercontinental champion for 666 days.
05:15The NXT UK champion for 870 days.
05:19All this man knows how to do is win.
05:30Jey Uso with his son supporting him here tonight.
06:00Moments ago, Wade, you probably gave me the best advice of my career.
06:07I'll give you a lot of good advice, but yeah, that was particularly good.
06:10And Wade warned me, perhaps I should not yeet with the world champion tonight because of the man who's in the ring, Gunther, and I'm going to heed that advice tonight.
06:20Just let the audience do it for you.
06:23Let them take all of the risk, and this kind of buy-in from an audience is something you cannot manufacture.
06:31They love this man.
06:32They believe in this man, and they are going to power this man to victory with everything in their souls tonight.
06:40Will it be successful?
06:43Will it be enough?
06:46To overcome the surely broken body of the champ.
06:54Keep that arm down, Michael Cole.
06:57You can see it twitching.
06:58Meanwhile, the challenger, Gunther, seems extremely unfazed in the ring as Jey Uso makes his way to ringside.
07:17I'll tell you, the quiet sting of failure lingers longer than any punch or kick when it comes to the ring general.
07:28And he gets a chance to finally rid his body of that sting right now.
07:36Come on, champ.
07:37Do it tonight.
07:41Jey Uso cannot be anywhere near 100%.
07:45I saw Jey earlier today, smile on his face, said he was ready to go, said he's not going to let anything get in the way of him holding on to this World Heavyweight Championship tonight.
07:57But, Wade, we showed just a small sample of what Jey Uso and the punishment he's taken over the past couple of weeks here at WWE.
08:05There's no way Jey is 100% tonight.
08:08I agree with you completely.
08:09Over that run from winning the Royal Rumble all the way to WrestleMania, Jey Uso had to develop an unbreakable spirit.
08:18He still has that.
08:19What you cannot develop is an unbreakable body.
08:23And I think half the job is already done for Gunther here.
08:27That's the problem for Jey Uso tonight.
08:29You mentioned Gunther's relatively fresh.
08:31He's only had one match since WrestleMania.
08:33That's the battle against Pat McAfee.
08:36Package backlash in May.
08:39The road to redemption since WrestleMania 41 has certainly not been straight for the comfort, but it has been relentless.
08:48And it's all been about tonight.
08:50Had that detour with McAfee.
08:53But now, normal business is intended to resume here on Raw.
08:58Again, I love it.
09:00I love the enthusiasm.
09:01I love the playing with the WWE fans here tonight.
09:04But the bottom line is this.
09:06As all this is going on, Gunther, the killer, the former champ, hasn't taken his eyes off Jey Uso.
09:16Let's head up to the ring.
09:18And our ring announcer, the great Alicia Taylor.
09:21The following contest, scheduled for one call, is for the World Heavyweight Championship.
09:37Introducing first, the challenger from Vienna, Austria, weighing in at 250 pounds, the ring general, Gunther.
10:02And his opponent, from San Francisco, California, weighing in at 242 pounds, he is the World Heavyweight Champion.
10:31He is the main event, Jey Uso.
10:42This is the fifth time that Jey Uso and Gunther have gone one-on-one.
10:48Gunther owns an edge of 3-1.
10:50He's also eliminated Jey Uso back in the Royal Rumble in 2024.
10:57At WrestleMania, Jey Uso tapped out Gunther to win his first-ever World Championship.
11:05It was the first time in almost four years since Gunther submitted in a matchup.
11:10Tonight, Gunther Uso for the World Title.
11:14The rematch the world has been salivating for.
11:19Well, it's all ours tonight.
11:23And Uso and Gunther, staring across the ring at one another.
11:29You're the champion, Wade James.
11:30Jey Uso, how do you pull off what many would consider a miracle again tonight?
11:36Well, you've done it once before.
11:37You did it at WrestleMania.
11:39You know you are capable of it.
11:41But does lightning really strike twice?
11:45I'm not so sure.
11:46And this is an even more motivated Gunther than he has been previously.
11:52Yeah, but Jey Uso going for the sleeper.
11:55The choke that he got Gunther to tap out at WrestleMania.
11:58Yeah, and that's a big piece of the embarrassment for Gunther.
12:02He was outclassed at WrestleMania by Jey Uso.
12:05Beaten with his own move.
12:07And tonight, it's Jey Uso with the advantage.
12:09The champion's advantage.
12:10Again, sleeper locked in and Gunther has to sling him away.
12:13Well, that perhaps was the best shot for Jey Uso.
12:16Trying to end this as quickly as possible.
12:18Gunther has to regroup.
12:22Wait, if you're Gunther, what's your strategy to take the title away from Mr. Uso?
12:36If you're Gunther, presumably, you want to drag this match into deep water.
12:40Don't get caught stupidly at the start.
12:43And that's not a word I use often when it comes to Gunther.
12:47But he did almost get caught with a couple of those chokes.
12:49The longer this match goes on, the more punishment you send the weight of the champ, Jey Uso, who's already sub-100%.
12:57The better it is for you.
13:04Gunther slowly taking his time getting back into the ring.
13:07Not quite yet.
13:09Going to think a little bit more about this.
13:11The kind of pace that works well for Gunther right now.
13:15Draw this one out for straight.
13:17Jey Uso let all that adrenaline of that entrance die down a little bit.
13:23And let Jey Uso start feeling the pain that must be in his joints.
13:28Main event tonight for the World Heavyweight Championship.
13:31Gunther back into the ring.
13:37Senior official Chad Patton working this matchup tonight.
13:43Is this the pace you expected early on?
13:46100% and I knew Jey was going to come out of the blocks.
13:49Red hot, raring to go.
13:51Once again, a step ahead of the ring general.
13:54It's rare you say that.
13:56Gunther was protecting himself from a backhand.
14:00And Uso turned it into a sleeper.
14:01Great move by Jey Uso there.
14:03And Gunther with a well-placed elbow.
14:05Gunther looks shell-shocked at this point.
14:07And again, you saw that.
14:09Jey, Gunther was expecting a backhand.
14:12And he basically stopped.
14:14And Jey was able to catch him into the sleeper hole.
14:16We're two minutes into this match.
14:17And Gunther already has a pained look on his face.
14:20And it's not from anything physical.
14:22It's purely from this mental assault.
14:24Jey Uso just made a step ahead.
14:26Well, listen, if you were the champion and you tapped out at WrestleMania to this man,
14:31that's still got to be in your mind, right?
14:33I mean, affecting you mentally.
14:35Yeah, and I thought that would be a major motivator for Gunther.
14:39But it seems to be more of a negative impact for him.
14:42Again, maybe Jey Uso has Gunther's number now.
14:45He's cracked the ego of the ring general.
14:48And now he's trying to crack the skull with it with those shots.
14:51Hey, Gunther seems all out of sorts here.
14:53He hasn't been able to get anything going in the early part of this matchup with the champion.
15:01And in the opening for this match for Gunther, you'd use two words, slow and weak.
15:07And I thought, oh, I would never say that about the great ring general.
15:12This is a different version of him thus far.
15:15He just doesn't look ready.
15:16I mean, maybe the fact that he's only had one match in the last couple of months could be a negative for him.
15:21But Jey Uso has quit tonight.
15:23Oh, Jey wasted, uh-oh, wasted a little too much time in Gunther.
15:29During moments ago, Jey Uso was dominating this matchup, but Gunther tried to turn it around quickly.
15:34Jey, though, able to send it back to the center of the ring.
15:36And now the champion, top rope.
15:38Jey Uso, cross body.
15:40Here's the cover.
15:41Hook to the leg and a kick out.
15:43And you see Jey Uso favoring his midsection as he delivered that cross body weight.
15:50And again, there's been a lot of rumors flying around.
15:53And we talked about this Saturday.
15:56Internal injuries, rib injuries, perhaps to Jey Uso from the tsunamis last week, from the ASEI moonsault this past Saturday.
16:04Do you see the smile on Gunther's face?
16:06He realizes that there is a problem now with Uso, and can he take advantage?
16:10I just ate your best shot, Jey.
16:12And it hurt you more than it hurt me.
16:15And now Gunther realizing that he is an injured champion here.
16:19And the big grin across the face of the ring general, who is now targeting the ribs of Uso, who has doubled over in pain.
16:27Well, Gunther has just gone from sluggish to savage in the blink of an eye.
16:32I mean, Jey Uso was actually dominating the start of this matchup.
16:36Had Gunther all out of sorts, and there it is.
16:38You see the heavily taped midsection of Jey Uso.
16:42We talked about the tsunami.
16:44We talked about the ASEI moonsault.
16:46Obviously, some serious injury issues from Jey Uso here.
16:49And Gunther now, like a shark to blood, attacking the champion.
16:53Well, the way this is going right now, the only thing Jey Uso is going to have around his waist when he leaves is that bandage.
17:01Which, certainly not the World Heavyweight Championship.
17:03Gunther looked like he has been presented a gift.
17:07A massive gift.
17:10And now stomping away again at the midsection of Uso.
17:14Just an injection of belief for the ring general.
17:19Whatever fragility there was in his ego has gone away now.
17:23It's galvanized.
17:23Well, Gunther had made a point over the past couple of weeks in a suplex again.
17:29Gunther had made a point the past few weeks that Jey Uso was wearing himself thin.
17:35I'll tell you right now.
17:36My opinion was, Michael, that Jey Uso should absolutely have declined the tag match at Money in the Bank.
17:44Sorry, Cody.
17:45You're on your own.
17:46Yeah, but that's not what Jey Uso's all about.
17:47I thought I'd put the title first.
17:49Well, that's fine not being about that.
17:50I would be about retaining my championship above and beyond anything else.
17:54And now ripping that protective tape away from the midsection of Jey Uso.
17:59Extremely vulnerable now in this match.
18:01Things have become very dire for the world champion as Gunther delivers a knee right to the ribs.
18:08Epic start from Jey Uso has now turned in to a battle for survival.
18:15And it's one Jey is losing dismally.
18:18It all began when Jey Uso hit a cross body on Gunther.
18:23Injuring his midsection, Gunther realized that was hurt.
18:26And now he has begun the attack.
18:29Yeah, Jey should have avoided that particular move like the plague.
18:34But it's instinct, it's adrenaline, it's staring across at Gunther and thinking,
18:37I better move quicker or he's going to hit me.
18:40And Jey hit a move he should never have pulled out with those damage ribs.
18:46WWE fans here in Phoenix tonight trying to rally the champion.
18:50Jey sent across the ring.
18:52Into the turnbuckle.
18:54Again, doubling over in pain.
18:56Gunther, though, Uso able to sidestep.
18:58Jey looking to rally.
18:59Looking for the sleeper.
19:00He knows he's got to end this quick.
19:02Uso trying to end it the way that he won at WrestleMania.
19:05But Gunther makes it to the ropes.
19:07Jey Uso, though, nice German suplex by Jey.
19:10Oh, and straight back to the ribs of Jey Uso.
19:13That sleeper is about the best move he's got.
19:15Very little rib impact when you're applying a sleeper.
19:19But a German suplex, a splash, the amount of torque on your midsection.
19:24Well, if he delivers a spear, that's going to jar him as well.
19:26And that's what Jey's trying to do here.
19:28Gunther, though, catches him in the sleeper because Jey just wasn't quick enough.
19:33He hasn't got the power to accelerate.
19:35That's Pat McAfee about that sleeper by Gunther.
19:37Jey Uso went for the suicide dive, and Gunther caught him with a right hand
19:42as Jey just collapses out to the apron.
19:44Well, maybe Gunther would have got him anyway,
19:46but I'm telling you, Jey Uso's speed is just a little off.
19:50He's got some power left in him.
19:52Yeah, Gunther now headfirst into the steel post,
19:55and Gunther, oh, and a German suplex outside the ring on the floor.
19:58Yeah, a release, German, onto that lower back, too.
20:01It's all in the favor of Gunther now.
20:03Uh-huh.
20:11Jey Uso in tremendous pain, suffering the German suplex by Gunther.
20:17Gunther down as well because he hit the steel post hard.
20:19He delivered that suplex weight on complete instinct.
20:23Well, Gunther's now got the ability to shake off the cobwebs,
20:27get a good lung full of oxygen, recalibrate.
20:30The issue with Jey Uso is his body's not going to allow him to recover at all during this match.
20:37I 100% agree.
20:40Referee now to count of seven.
20:42Countout does not do Gunther any good.
20:44Gunther will break the count.
20:46Count of nine, and the fighting champion, Jey Uso,
20:49makes his way back in the ring before a count of ten.
20:52And that took some guts, Wade.
20:53I mean, Jey could have just taken the countout and walked away here with the title.
20:56You call it guts from my perspective, I absolutely would have stayed on the outside.
21:01I don't know if Jey's brain is even working correctly at this point,
21:04but you're right, he's got himself back in the ring,
21:07and it might have been the worst possible thing he could have done there.
21:10And Gunther trying to recoup now from his face meeting the post moments ago.
21:16I mean, it was a quick start for Jey Uso.
21:18He had Gunther all out of sorts until he delivered that top rope crossbody,
21:22and then things turned around.
21:24Yeah, this game can turn on a dime.
21:27Again, pain right to the back of Jey Uso.
21:31You've got to wonder if he's suffered from internal injuries.
21:34I tried to talk to the trainers earlier today.
21:37They really didn't have much to say about Jey,
21:39except that he was cleared to compete tonight.
21:41I mean, there's a rule with the trainers.
21:43You know, they'll give you the information they have to.
21:46They're certainly not going to give you intel on a superstar,
21:49something that might get back to the ring general.
21:51You don't have to be a genius to realize that Jey Uso came in today walking, wounded,
21:58and he's now desperately trying to find some way to throw some offense the way of the ring general.
22:04Yeah, he's looking to rally here.
22:06He's Uso, a couple of right hands now, delivered to Gunther.
22:08Gunther with a chop, just drops the champion.
22:12I mean, you need all your reactions.
22:13When Gunther's throwing offense at you, especially that chop,
22:17any chance that you're blocking it or moving is gone with those busted ribs.
22:21Well, you're in there with a machine, a Terminator.
22:25This guy has no remorse, shows no mercy.
22:28Nor should he when the gold's on the line.
22:32Callous as you like, Gunther.
22:34And we're World Heavyweight Championship, Gunther and Uso.
22:43Gunther dominating.
22:44Uso with injured ribs looking to somehow rally in this match.
22:48Blocked there.
22:51Jey really is clinging on here.
22:53I'm astounded he even got Gunther halfway up.
22:55There's a massive frame.
22:56And look at Jey Uso, almost had him.
22:58Gunther, though, back lands on his knee.
23:01A third time for Jey Uso.
23:03He's got Gunther in a radical suplex.
23:06Jey with the landing.
23:08Hurtting his own ribs in the process again.
23:11You're so limited in the offense you can throw without hurting those ribs.
23:16And when instinct kicks in, and of course against Gunther,
23:19you don't get many options anyway.
23:20You have to take what's there.
23:22But it's backfired again for Jey Uso.
23:25And a problem, Wade, is a slow pace helps Gunther, the ring general.
23:29Jey has to pick up the pace, but Kenny with the injured ribs.
23:32The longer it goes on, the more the swelling grows in those ribs.
23:37The more painful it gets, the more your body seizes up.
23:41And the more you need these people, yeeting you the victory.
23:47And now exchanging blows, center of the ring.
23:50Champion Uso, challenger Gunther.
23:52And now Jey Uso starting to get the upper hand, right hand.
23:57He's turning around in a hurry.
23:59And Uso cut on him.
24:01On the shoulder, dropping Gunther to the mat.
24:03Jey's not just surviving now.
24:05He's learning, he's adapting, he's growing into this fight
24:09just when he really needed it.
24:11But no, nobody home as Gunther was able to duck out of harm's way.
24:15And again, the impact rattling the insides of Jey Uso.
24:19And again, Gunther with a sleeper, the tote, trying to put Uso out here.
24:23And you know, Gunther really wants to win it with a move Jey used to beat him at WrestleMania.
24:28Indeed.
24:29Gunther was embarrassed and humiliated after tapping out to Jey Uso at WrestleMania.
24:34He would love to tap the champion tonight.
24:36Jey Uso trying to drag Gunther over the top rope and break this here.
24:40Gunther's up to the floor.
24:41Desperation move from Jey Uso.
24:43He is now blocking out the pain and hitting top speed.
24:46And now he hits the suicide dive and down goes Gunther and Uso trying to rally now.
24:52Jey Uso's best hope at this point may well be a double count out.
24:57Neither man moving whatsoever.
25:01Jey can't even breathe down there.
25:04Again, you've had injured ribs in your career.
25:06So difficult to catch your breath, especially so deep in match.
25:09Yeah, you can't move.
25:10You can't twist.
25:11You can't inhale.
25:13You certainly can't defend the World Heavyweight Championship against the ring.
25:17General Gunther.
25:19Yeah, Gunther mentioned it before.
25:21He's a machine.
25:22He's a Terminator.
25:23Gunther takes all the emotion out of the matchup.
25:26It's just kill or be killed when it comes to Gunther.
25:30No mercy, no remorse.
25:32Complete absence of malice.
25:34You want to get to the top?
25:35Your mind has to be a compassion-free zone.
25:38And that is something Gunther excels at.
25:42Gunther top rope.
25:44Uso got his knees up.
25:45Jey Spear.
25:51Got to kill it now, Jey.
25:53Got him in position.
25:54Jey Uso going up top.
25:55Looking to retain the championship.
25:57Jey Uso now.
25:58Uso splash.
25:59And Jey hooks the leg.
26:03Gunther kicks out.
26:06Oh, man.
26:09Jey Uso out of nowhere connecting with this spear.
26:13Sopening the big man up.
26:15Putting his own body on the line to hit the big one.
26:18The splash.
26:19This is it.
26:20Uh-uh.
26:21Not today.
26:22Not against the ring general.
26:25And that might have been Jey Uso's final flurry.
26:28Jey got up in smoke.
26:30I was going to say, wait.
26:31If you're Uso, mentally, how do you cope with the fact that you just hit him with your one-two and he kicked out?
26:37It's utterly devastating at the best of times.
26:40Even more so when you doubt your body's own ability to cooperate and hit something that big again in this match.
26:51Uso trying to drag himself back to his feet here.
26:56Gunther as well.
26:57And Uso measuring his mane.
27:00Gunther unsighted and defenseless.
27:03Pulling himself up in the corner.
27:05Gunther doesn't realize that Uso is set and ready to spring.
27:08Oh, now he does.
27:09He turns Jey inside out.
27:11Absolutely baited Jey in.
27:13He was fully aware what was going on there, Cole.
27:15And now Gunther.
27:17Went for the power bomb.
27:18Uso able to counter.
27:19Puts the leg to retain.
27:21Ah, two and a half.
27:22So much resilience from Jey Uso.
27:25And a kick to Gunther.
27:26And now Gunther's in trouble.
27:27And now Jey Uso back in the sleeper.
27:31Jey Uso looking to take out Gunther.
27:33Gunther turns it around now.
27:34Oh, and a knee right to the spine.
27:37So well skilled.
27:39Technically, not more than five seconds in these sleepers.
27:42And Gunther rings it up.
27:43Oh, no, not the power bomb.
27:45Stacks him up.
27:46Jey still has some life.
27:47Now Gunther perhaps starting to get frustrated.
27:55He knows he's got a lame duck in the ring with him.
27:58But he simply cannot put him to the sword.
28:01Yeah, Valiant champion Jey Uso.
28:03Able to kick out of that power bomb.
28:05Despite the injured midsection.
28:10Gunther though realizes Uso's wounded.
28:14And he's waiting to take out his prey.
28:16Gunther is hurting.
28:19That is a testament to the job Jey Uso has already done this evening.
28:24But it might be about to go downhill rapidly.
28:27Gunther with a spear.
28:28Gunther with a spear of his own.
28:31Cover.
28:32Hooks the leg.
28:33Jey still in it.
28:35Man, Gunther wanted to take out Jey with Jey's own move.
28:39And somehow Uso was able to kick out.
28:43First time in Gunther's career.
28:45He's tried that.
28:46He tried it for a reason.
28:48Message said to a broken and battered Jey Uso.
28:53Yeah, but what a courageous title defense tonight.
28:57From main event Jey Uso.
28:5820-25 really has been the year of Jey Uso.
29:07More momentum than anybody on the roster.
29:12Might be about to hit a brick wall in the form of this big Austrian.
29:17Jey trying to somehow fight back up to his feet.
29:19Big right.
29:24I'll tell you, Gunther's not reinventing the wheel here.
29:28It's all basic moves.
29:30Clothesline, big boots.
29:32I'll tell you, Jey.
29:33Where is it?
29:35Enjoy it to me now.
29:36You are.
29:37He's the better than anyone else.
29:41Now just trash talking.
29:44Jey Uso will not go away without a fight.
29:49Still on his feet after.
29:51That stiff arm clothesline by Gunther and another one.
29:54And Jey still fighting back.
29:56Digging down deep.
29:58Showing some guts and hearts tonight.
30:01And the courageous champion now.
30:03Went for a sleeper.
30:04But again, Gunther out so quickly.
30:06And then one of his own.
30:07You ain't getting out of this one.
30:09Oh, yes, you are.
30:10And Jey Uso driving Gunther face first into the turnbuckle.
30:13Kick of his own.
30:15Jey.
30:16Spear.
30:19Does Jey have anything left?
30:21Well, it didn't work the first time.
30:23Gunther's softened up for good now.
30:25Jey heading up top.
30:27Uso with an Uso splash.
30:28Nobody hold.
30:29Right to the bad ribs.
30:32And that could prove costly for the champion.
30:35That was as close as you'll ever get to a scream from Jey Uso involuntary.
30:41An outlet for this massive amount of pain.
30:44And oh my God, the hugs are in cold.
30:46Yeah, the constrictor-like maneuver here by Gunther.
30:50Now he just puts the full weight of his body on top of Uso.
30:56Look at how the arm is slipped underneath the chin into a choke.
30:59As Jey now tries to make it to the bottom rope.
31:02That would force a break.
31:04Can Jey hang on?
31:05Can Jey Uso hang on?
31:06Gunther drags him back to the middle of the ring.
31:08Gunther with a sleeper still applied.
31:10Again, no way out of this.
31:12Perhaps for Jey.
31:13He's desperately scrambling with everything he's got.
31:17Gunther, oh, fingertips on there.
31:19Yeah, but Gunther pulled him back to the center of the ring.
31:21Yeah, he didn't have a good grip on that rope.
31:23Certainly not good enough to break that hold.
31:25And again, now he just drags Uso back down to the ring.
31:28Jey Uso's center of the ring could be fading.
31:31Gunther's got his entire weight wrapped around the body of Jey Uso.
31:35Jey trying to fight back.
31:36The champion trying to stay in this.
31:37This audience willing Jey back into this.
31:40Do something, please.
31:42Jey Uso trying to fight out, but his eyes look like they're beginning to roll into the
31:46back of his head.
31:47Jey, does he have some fight left?
31:49Jey trying to stay in this.
31:50Jey trying to fight back.
31:52Jey trying to make it to the ropes.
31:53All the while, that carotid artery is being squeezed shut.
31:57Back to a vertical base for Uso.
31:59But Gunther drags him back down to the mat again.
32:01And that could be the last gasp for the world heavyweight champion.
32:06Can Jey stay in it?
32:09Fading rapidly.
32:10The eyes of Jey.
32:12Oh.
32:12Yeah, but how smart is Gunther?
32:15Oh, wait a minute.
32:16Now Uso into the sweeper.
32:18Uso with an opportunity.
32:21Somehow staying in this.
32:22I don't know how Uso's got any power left in those limbs.
32:27All that adrenaline for the champion.
32:29Gunther's now fading.
32:30Shades of WrestleMania.
32:31Shades of WrestleMania.
32:33Will the ring general tap?
32:34Will Uso retain here?
32:36Is Gunther going to tap out again?
32:38To main event Jey Uso.
32:41Screezing his way out of there again.
32:43Gunther able to slip underneath.
32:44And now the well-placed elbows to Uso.
32:46And now Gunther again wraps it in.
32:50And Gunther now wrapped around the body of the champion.
32:54Does Jey have anything left?
32:56Anything left?
32:57So much taken out of Jey.
32:59The eyes sorely faded now.
33:01Must be a million miles away from those ropes.
33:04There's no fight left, Cole.
33:06Jey has nothing left in him and it doesn't appear.
33:09Trying to somehow slip out of this sleeper by Gunther.
33:12Jey Uso's out.
33:13Jey Uso is out.
33:14I believe he is out.
33:16Gunther becomes the new world champion.
33:19Here is your winner and the new world champion.
33:32Well, the expression on the face of the new world champion says it all.
33:44He knows he was in a fight tonight.
33:47A massive fight with a very game and valiant, courageous Jey Uso.
33:52But at the end of the day, Gunther is once again, for the second time in his career, a world heavyweight champion.
34:02Jey Uso's just done too much over the last couple of months.
34:06He's been one hell of a champion.
34:10But I'll tell you, I don't care how good you are in this game.
34:13Even the very best taken out occasionally.
34:16But the greats, they come back and they avenge their losses with whatever it takes.
34:24And it took everything but the kitchen sink from Gunther tonight to prize Jey Uso's grip of the world heavyweight championship.
34:34You do question what kind of fight would it be.
34:37Had Jey Uso really been rested at 100 percent.
34:43But Gunther didn't care and nor shot he.
34:46This was about the big one.
34:48This was about the gold.
34:49This was about the world heavyweight championship.
34:52And in that moment, a new champ was crowned.
34:57Gunther who prides himself in always carrying gold.
35:02As Jey Uso is done there at ringside.
35:05Gunther is once again the dawning of the ring generals era.
35:14Gunther is once again world heavyweight champion.
35:25Gunther!
35:27Go!
35:27Go!
