00:17Their Royal Highnesses arrived at the hospital mortuary at 5.56pm and were accompanied by
00:23state officials, including Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Sarani Mohamad, University Pendidikan
00:29Sultan Idris Vice-Chancellor Datuk Dr. Mohamad Amin Mohamad Taf.
00:34Tuanku Zahra is also the university's chancellor.
00:38In a statement issued via the Sultan's office, Their Majesties expressed profound sorrow over
00:43the horrific incident, which claimed 15 lives in a crash at Kilometer 53 of the East-West
00:49Highway in Garrick on Monday morning.
00:51While acknowledging that life and death are determined by divine will, Sultan Nazrin said,
00:57God urges people to take all necessary precautions to protect themselves from danger and disaster.
01:03He adds the increasing frequency of fatal road accidents in recent times and stressed that
01:08more preventive measures must be taken.
01:10He also urged all relevant authorities to view this tragedy as a lesson, identify existing
01:15shortcomings, and implement improvements to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
01:21The royal couple also extended their deepest sympathies and condolences to the grieving parents and
01:27family members who lost their beloved children and loved ones at such a young age and in such
01:32heartbreaking manner.
