00:00Arslanov!
00:07I'm sorry to meet you in the dressing room. I want a clean fight.
00:10Good luck.
00:15And we take a look at the tail of the tape for our next contest.
00:18Arthur B. Arslanov and Antonio Collado.
00:22See Collado enjoying the reach advantage in this one.
00:26Collado says this is going to be like when they called Sandor Martin to step in to face Teofimo Lopez.
00:33He is confident of springing a major upset here tonight for B. Arslanov,
00:38who, as we've been talking about, now ranked in the top ten by two of the four major sanctioning bodies.
00:44Now, Corey Collado is from Quintana de la Orden, which is in La Mancha, Spain,
00:49which means we have a literal man of La Mancha in the ring tonight.
00:52If you guys think I have enough restraint not to make a Don Quixote joke,
00:56I'm just going to tell you that Collado is tilting at a windmill that's shaped like Arthur B. Arslanov tonight.
01:01Because he's a long shot.
01:09B. Arslanov, as we mentioned, starting to regain some of that buzz that he enjoyed within Canada,
01:14specifically, of course, coming out of the Olympics, a Pan Am Games gold medal.
01:20Spotlight was on him between 2015 to 2017.
01:24Now, it seems like the broader boxing audience is starting to come on board when it comes to the Wolves.
01:30Yeah, absolutely. It just took him a little time to find his groove, to find a consistent training base.
01:35He was back and forth between Montreal and Toronto for a while.
01:37He's fighting over in UAE for a while.
01:39But again, since he's been back here in Montreal training and also fighting here consistently in Montreal,
01:43that climb through the rankings is not a coincidence.
01:46It's a direct result of the fact that he has a stable training base and a stable promotional managerial situation.
01:53This check right hook there from B. Arslanov, who just buries a left hand in the midsection of Collado,
01:59the former Spanish lightweight champion.
02:03Coming off an eight-round decision win over Otto Gámez in March 8th of this year.
02:10You know, we've seen earlier, we understand that Collado doesn't have big punching power,
02:15but he has figured out very early on that his best chance in this fight is to land that straight right hand.
02:21That's the only thing that's going to keep B. Arslanov off of him.
02:25Landed a sweeping right hand, but after getting caught by a tremendous uppercut from B. Arslanov with his back against the ropes.
02:33We're inside the final minute of a high-paced opening round.
02:37B. Arslanov not taking his time here, and this one could be over early.
02:50Collado up at the count of eight, but the Wolf is tasting blood here in the opening round.
02:56And you can hear Collado's coaches from the corner telling him to move.
03:00They're saying, move, move, move. And he's deciding to do the opposite.
03:04He's deciding to stand here and fight, which is actually a better chance in this battle.
03:09Hard right hook to the body, and he brings it up top as well as Collado slumps to the mat.
03:19Collado looking for guidance in his corner.
03:23He has found no answers here in the opening round.
03:26Can he make it out of the opening round? He is coming right at B. Arslanov.
03:31You've got to hand it to Collado.
03:33Give him marks for bravery, but that was as dominant an opening round as you will see from the Wolf.
03:39Absolutely.
03:40Arthur B. Arslanov, you don't think of one specific thing he does well, or that he's great at, but he does a lot of things so well.
03:51He puts the package together, and he is very difficult to deal with.
03:54Again, especially if you're a guy like Collado.
03:56So now, the keys to victory for B. Arslanov. Set the pace of the fight.
03:59Rely on his speed advantage because he is always in very good shape.
04:04Finish the fight if the opportunity presents itself.
04:06For Collado, don't exchange too early in the fight. That one's out the window because he's been trying to exchange every chance he gets.
04:12Double the jab to the extent that he throws it, which he has not thrown it very much.
04:15And two, if he gets to the second half of the fight, takes some risks, but he decided he was going to do that early on.
04:20It paid off, but he also paid for it. Here he is under a withering assault from B. Arslanov, having to take a knee.
04:26It was not one single punch that put him down, but it was just the accumulation and just the relentlessness.
04:37It's round two underway. Collado on the canvas twice in the opening round as Arthur B. Arslanov taking full advantage.
04:49Of the short notice opponent, Antonio Collado, who goes down for a third time.
04:55You see the Arslanov really setting down on that right hook to the body.
04:59And I don't know that Collado has ever seen anything like this in a professional boxing group.
05:08You see Collado more than willing to engage, but there is a lot going on right now.
05:13You see the 10-7 round in the opening round as scored by our French colleague, Matt Cassavon.
05:19And I am not certain that we will need his score for the second round.
05:24Collado understands what he's up against and his bearing all week. He's been very confident.
05:30You hear him at the news conference. He said, look, I know I'm here for a reason. God has put me here.
05:34I am made for this moment to come upset Arthur B. Arslanov.
05:39But thinking it is, but he's never been in the ring with Arthur B. Arslanov.
05:42So it's one thing to think it's another thing to do it.
05:44But to your point, Corey, you have to give him credit because he didn't come here to try to just survive.
05:49He didn't come here to run and try to just make 12 rounds, make 10 rounds, maybe win five and a half or six of them.
05:54He understands he has to fight on the front foot if he has any chance.
05:59But he's also paying for it.
06:01And B. Arslanov warned for a shot behind the head.
06:04A brief reprieve for Collado and now B. Arslanov right back on top of him.
06:10Collado said that this fight would be like two battleships meeting in the center of the ring.
06:14And he has indeed met B. Arslanov head on.
06:17Just unfortunately, it's been with his back against the ropes as B. Arslanov just wails away once more.
06:24You saw the straight left there, Corey, that started that sequence.
06:27And that will not be ruled a knockdown.
06:31As the official has ruled that that shot was behind the head.
06:34Collado in some discomfort here.
06:47Less than a minute left to go here in the second round.
06:50B. Arslanov still stabbing away to the body.
06:54Collado is still coming forward behind that lead right hand.
06:57He has decided that the jab is not what's going to open things up for him.
06:59It's going to be the lead right hand that he can stick it between B. Arslanov's gloves.
07:03He can create other opportunities.
07:07Final 30 seconds of the second round as Collado offers up another right hand.
07:18And that sequence right there, Corey, is the fight sort of in a nutshell.
07:22Collado putting everything he had behind a right hand and it barely makes B. Arslanov blink.
07:27B. Arslanov setting down on that right hook to the body and it forces Collado to get on the move.
07:32See a cut on the outside of the eye of B. Arslanov as he lands one more right hook.
07:37And that'll do it for round two.
07:38Collado being good for round two.
07:41Yeah.
07:46Yeah.
07:47Back live here at the Montreal Casino
08:08as we take a look at the corner of Arthur Biarcelinov
08:11now dealing with a cut on the outside of the eye
08:14being dealt with by Sam Dakari.
08:17Corey, back in the old bare-knuckle boxing days,
08:21you would call that drawing first blood.
08:22Here you see Biarcelinov just stalking Koyal.
08:27Koyal hands up, throwing big punches,
08:31trying to find ways to keep Biarcelinov off him.
08:33But again, it's one thing in theory to throw these big punches
08:36to keep Biarcelinov from smothering you.
08:38Something else to actually have to do it inside the ring.
08:47It's round three now underway.
08:57Antonio Koyal just trying to hang in there here
09:01against Arthur Biarcelinov, who has had him down a number of times.
09:06And Koyal on unsteady legs here already.
09:09Yeah, you saw that big right hook to the body, Corey,
09:11forcing Koyal to take sort of a false step.
09:13That would really bother him.
09:15And that bothered him even more as he is down on the mat and in agony.
09:20Four, five, six, seven, six, eight, nine.
09:29Koyal staggers to his feet, but again, an ethical decision there
09:34to take Koyal out of a fight that he would have continued in.
09:38There was no need, the wolf, too much for Koyal tonight.
09:42No, and Koyal's corner is furious.
09:44They think that was a blow behind the head.
09:45We'll see what the replay says.
09:47But overall, again, it's just Koyal was game.
09:51He was very eager, had a game plan that allowed him to do as well
09:56as he could possibly have done.
09:58But again, just the gap in talent, speed, skill,
10:02and overall strength was too wide.
10:12Here's Biarcelinov jabbing to the body in sort of a cuffing right hand.
10:17It hits Koyal where the neck meets the base of the skull.
10:26So an easy night for Arthur Biarcelinov, with the exception of the cut,
10:30which of course will stand in the way of Biarcelinov getting back in the ring extremely quickly,
10:36but nonetheless, in every other sense, exactly how Biarcelinov would have wanted this fight to go.
10:41Yes, so we won't see Biarcelinov back in the ring on June 27th.
10:45But again, he also did what you're supposed to do with a late replacement opponent.
10:50You don't let the guy hang around.
10:51You don't let him get confident.
10:53You don't let him think he has a chance to win.
10:56When you know you have the guy outclassed, you work your game plan,
11:01and you take him out of there, which is what Arthur Biarcelinov did.
11:03Well, Antonio Collado, true to his word, he went for it in this fight, Morgan,
11:13but again, just heavily outclassed by a true world-class operator in Arthur Biarcelinov,
11:22who was just waiting for the opportunity against the right opponent to truly solidify that.
11:27Yeah, and for Biarcelinov, again, this is a bit of a curveball for him as well.
11:31He was expecting a sort of higher level fight to defend his NABF title, had some opponents pull out,
11:37wind up with the late replacement opponent, so it turns into a stay-busy fight.
11:42But again, he did what he's supposed to do in this situation in a stay-busy fight,
11:46got his job done, won the fight, and looked good.
11:49All right, let's make this one official. Let's send it back down to the ring.
11:52Ladies and gentlemen, official chronometer, 38 seconds of the third round.
11:57Yvon Goulet stops the fight, declaring the winner by TKO, Arthur Biarcelinov!
12:17Oh!
12:21So, Arthur Biarcelinov improves to 19-0, that being the 16th knockout of his profession.
