00:00You've spent the last three years on the PGA Tour, which it feels like it's been longer than that, but maybe it's just because you play so much.
00:07You're basically the Iron Byron, maybe call you Iron Ben.
00:1037 events in year one, 35 events in year two, and you've already played 19 events this year.
00:16That's just like insane to even think about how much golf that is.
00:21Of course, every week is so important for a rookie, especially that first year, to be able to play every week.
00:28Like, was that your intentions, is to play every single week?
00:33Yeah, I think a lot of it kind of had to do with when I was a kid.
00:36Like, I would ask myself, what would 16-year-old Ben want to do right now?
00:41And I used to play a ton of events when I was a kid, but he would say, if you're on a PGA Tour event, you've got to play.
00:46Like, you can't take it off.
00:47Like, it's an opportunity to win.
00:48It's an opportunity to make tax cut points, money.
00:50Like, there's so much to play for.
00:52And I think a lot of it was because I had spent so long.
00:55Eric Cole is the same way.
00:56He plays in a lot of events.
00:57And I think it's because both of us played in so many, many tour events and so many events where we weren't making, you know, money at all to where now we have that opportunity.
01:05Let's take advantage of it.
01:07Obviously, things in my life have changed pretty quickly the last several weeks to where now scheduling is changing.
01:14I do want to play more worldwide.
01:17I want to play in some DPU world events.
01:19Oh, cool.
01:20That's always been my goal, actually, on tour was to, you know, try to go play at Wentworth.
01:25Now I'm on the Ryder Cup, whatever, watch list.
01:29So, some of that can now change, too.
01:31But my goal is to kind of play a little bit more internationally.
01:35I think it would be really fun.
01:36Maybe go over and play in Dubai or play in, you know, obviously we go to Japan in the fall.
01:41But, and I've played in that the last couple of years.
01:43But, yeah, from a PGA Tour standpoint, I mean, I always just, when I got on tour, I was like, I got to play in everything I can qualify for.
01:50Like, I mean, I'd be dumb not to.
01:53And I'm really good at resting, especially after weeks on Mondays and taking it really light in practice rounds, not over practicing.
02:02A lot of guys will go and maybe are more range rats than I am.
02:05I'm the type of guy that just, I want to see the course.
02:09I trust my game.
02:09I'm ready to tee up Thursday.
02:11And then the next week, it's like, do my work Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday, go again.
02:15So, I feel like I kind of create little mini, I mean, it's not an off week, but mini off days, off like half weeks, where I go into tournaments feeling pretty fresh.
02:23So, yeah, I started out this year playing 13 in a row, and then I played the last six in a row.
02:28I mean, that's a great quality to have, of course, just time management and just having that awareness of being able to rest.
02:33But since you brought up resting, let's talk about resting on the PGA Tour and where you book your hotels.
02:40We had this conversation recently on the Putt and Greta Memorial, and we were talking about maybe where I recently stayed and had a poor experience.
02:48And you're like, yeah, dude, I stay in those like every week.
02:51So, where's the grade as far as what's too low of a price that you'll see on whether it's Priceline or wherever it is that you say, you know what, this is the bottom of where I will accept to stay for this week.
03:04Yeah.
03:04I mean, if I'm spending more than $200 a week or a night on a hotel.
03:08A week, I was like, oh, my gosh.
03:10It's because Dana's with me, and I've got to make sure Dana's got a nice place to stay.
03:16All right.
03:16So, just Ben.
03:17If I'm by myself, I don't care if I stay at the comfort suites.
03:20I don't care if I stay at the comfort inn.
03:22I don't care if it's the residence inn.
03:24Like, I'm perfect.
03:26I'll sleep anywhere with the bed.
03:28I don't care.
