Morigaon (Assam), June 6, 2025 (ANI): Flood situation has shown slight improvement but still 117 villages remain submerged under floodwaters in Assam’s Morigaon. In Mayong area, people are grappling with dire conditions. Students have been forced to take ride in country made boats to reach schools. Many flood-affected people have moved to safer places and taking shelter after the flood waters entered into their houses. According to ASDMA, flood water has affected over 5.60 lakh people across 19 districts in the state. This year’s floods have claimed 12 lives, with five more deaths attributed to landslides.
