00:00Deleting your Hotmail or Outlook account from your phone isn't easy, so I'll show you how.

00:06To delete your Hotmail account from your phone, you have to go to the Outlook icon, which is in the upper left corner.

00:14When this menu appears, click on the gear icon that's right at the bottom.

00:20Then, scroll down to the General section and click on Accounts.

00:25You'll see two main options, Add Account and Create New Account.

00:30However, if you click on the name of the account you want to delete, you can configure more options.

00:37Scroll all the way down and you'll see the option to remove account.

00:42You shouldn't click on that because it removes the account from the Outlook app, but it doesn't permanently delete the Outlook account itself.

00:51If you want to permanently delete your account, that is, close it, you have to click on How to Close My Account right below.

01:00A new screen will open in the browser outside of the Outlook app.

01:04If you notice, I have the Outlook app open here and also the browser, which in this case is Chrome.

01:10Once here, read everything Microsoft tells you carefully and once you've made up your mind, go back to the top to click on the Close Account button.

01:20As a security measure, it will send you a notification to the phone number you have associated with this Hotmail account.

01:29As you can see, I have to go to the Outlook application and press the number 58.

01:33So I go back to the Outlook application.

01:39Here I get this message and I have to press the same number that appears in Chrome, that is, set 58.

01:45I press Approve and it would be approved.

01:48I go back to Chrome and from here I can delete my Outlook account.

01:56Read all the paragraphs that appear on this screen carefully and once you are sure that you want to delete your email account.

02:04Below you can indicate the number of days that have to pass for your account to be permanently closed.

02:09In this case, you can choose either 60 days or 30 days.

02:14I'm going to leave it at 70 days.

02:16I click Next.

02:18I confirm that I have reviewed and agree with all the paragraphs that appear on this screen.

02:24I must select a reason for my account to be closed.

02:28Finally, once you have indicated the reason, click on Mark Account for closure.

02:33As you can see, it seems to me that this email will be closed on April 8th, that is, in 60 days, it will be permanently deleted and I will no longer be able to recover it.
