Neil Greenberg believes James Wood's ceiling and floor is very high.

00:05I mean, you've got to be bullish.

00:06I mean, the kid is 22 years old and doing a lot of things we haven't seen in a while.

00:14He's being talked about as an MVP.

00:17He strikes out a little bit too often, but again, he's only 22 years old, and he'll kind of figure that out.

00:25And if that's the only knock on your game at this age, being in the majors, you're probably set up for a lot of success.

00:32One, because that's correctable, and two, because the strikeouts don't really hurt you as much as they did before,

00:38or at least we know now that they don't hurt you as much.

00:41But yeah, I mean, there's a lot of momentum with this kid.

00:48He's become a very valuable player in the majors overall, let alone for the Nats.

00:55To say he's a building block, I don't think I'm breaking any ground here.

00:59But yeah, I think that he's got a very bright future.

01:02Hesitant to say how bright, but so far, a 22-year-old doing what he's doing,

01:08he's certainly on a superstar trajectory, and the Nats are sitting on a goldmine here

01:15because they have him under cost control for, what, seven years, eight years, or whatever it is.

01:20That's a huge building block, especially with the rest of their young roster.

01:23Wouldn't surprise me to see the Nats return to contention very soon,

01:27only because their core is very young, and obviously, led by Wood, they look to be very good.

01:33His comparison is Aaron Judge.

01:37Yeah, that's a lofty comparison, but I mean...

01:43Nobody else is 6'7 or 6'8 in the league, though.

01:45Right, it's one thing to say he's the next Aaron Judge, but when the numbers really don't point to anybody else,

01:52you kind of just got to roll with it.

01:53And look, let's face it, if he's like three-quarters of what Judge is, that's still a superstar talent in baseball.
