00:00Samantala, i-giniit ni Defense Secretary Guibo Teodoro na maraming dapat gawin ng China para maibalik ang tiwala para sa pagkakaroon ng isang efektibong diyalogo.

00:09Kinihayag yan ang kalihim sa kanyang pagdalo sa 2025 International Institute for Strategic Studies Shangri-La Dialogue.

00:19Sariling paninindigan ng Pilipinas ang paglaban sa karapatan ng bansa sa West Philippine Sea.

00:25Ito ang giniit ni Defense Secretary Guilberto Teodoro Jr. sa katapos sa 2025 International Institute for Strategic Studies o IISS Shangri-La Dialogue na idinao sa Singapura.

00:38Muli ring pinunan ni Teodoro ang 9- at ngayon'y 10-line na ng China sa buong South China Sea.

00:44As if we were mere pawns with no strategic agency of our own.

00:50In that spirit, I would like to reiterate that the Philippine position on the West Philippine Sea is not a function of Sino-American strategic rivalry.

01:04Instead, it is caused, no doubt, by the overreach of the Chinese Communist Party.

01:10At dahil sa patuloy ng mga agresibong aksyon, nagkakaroon niya ng kakulangan sa tiwala sa China na malaking balakid sa mga diyalogo.

01:19I just look back to 1995 on a place called Bischief Reef.

01:25There were a few bamboo structures erected there.

01:30And China said that these were temporary havens for fisherfolk.

01:38Now you have an artificial military island, heavily militarized.

01:46And China has a lot of trust building to do to be an effective negotiating partner in dispute settlement.

01:59Sinabi naman ni U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegsett na walang intensyon ng Amerika na makipaglabad sa China.

02:07Pero nakahanda raw silang umalalay sa mga kalyado sa Indo-Pacific region,

02:12kabilang na ang Pilipinas na biktima ng iba't ibang paninindak sa West Philippine Sea.

02:17President Trump and the American people have an immense respect for the Chinese people and their civilization.

02:25But we will not be pushed out of this critical region.

02:28And we will not let our allies and partners be subordinated and intimidated.
