00:00We have shared our helpline numbers with all the agencies.
00:04Our combined teams right now are undertaking the rescue work wherever the breaches are occurring.
00:10We had kept all the department in readiness. The materials were all stocked.
00:15Rain has been so heavy that the river has overshone beyond the banks.
00:30We have been monitoring the developing situation.
00:48We have been keeping a very close watch and coordination with the state administration
00:52with respect to the developing flood situation.
00:55And yesterday also there was a coordination carried out with the SDRF,
01:00the state disaster response team, as also with the NDRF team.
01:04And we have shared our helpline numbers with all the agencies.
01:10We have published in the local newspapers.
01:12They have been given to everyone. People can get in touch with us.
01:16And we have got, as of now, eight columns already deployed along with our boards.
01:21We have also got the resources of the engineers from the 57th division from Limacong.
01:27And our combined teams right now are undertaking the rescue work wherever the breaches are occurring.
01:33Right now near Heng Yang where the breaches occurred, there are already reports of some people marooned there.
01:38Our columns have rushed there at that point to provide some relief there.
01:42Also, in the town where all the breaches are taking place, people are reaching out to us.
01:48Our columns are getting mobilized and trying to reach in those places.
01:53These teams are self-contained.
01:55We have clubbed some life-saving medicine along with them.
02:00As of now, it is the initial time. People may not require it.
02:03But from tomorrow, in case if the situation continues to be this bad,
02:07then some food, water and such basic life-saving drugs, they will be part of our teams.
02:14We are prepared to cater for that type of contingency.
02:18As of now, our riflemen and men both are out in the field.
02:23And they are providing relief and rescue work to stranded people.
02:27It has been raining for the last three, four days.
02:29And we were expecting this kind of a thing to happen because last night there was very heavy in the catchment area,
02:37in Kangpukpi area in particular.
02:40So since we are aware and prepared, what we have done was that we had kept all the department in readiness.
02:46The materials were all stocked.
02:47The vulnerable points had been strengthened.
02:50And in addition, we had hired a lot of vehicles, a lot of JCBs and all,
02:54along with poles, bamboo chatai, mud, all those things had been done prearranged
03:00and had been placed at the location only, rather than keeping it in a go-down and then bringing it at the time of flood.
03:05So that has saved a lot of things.
03:07Luckily, there has not been any breach so far.
03:09But the rain has been so heavy that the river has overthrown beyond the banks.
03:16So that has led to this flood.
03:17Particularly one area where, I mean, you see this flood, this is happening here.
03:21Because of one particular point after Nungpuk Thong, the water has come towards Chekwon.
03:25It should recede in the next four or five hours because the rains are kind of reducing in Kangbuk Pi also.
03:33But what happened about four or five hours back will continue for the next four or five hours.
03:37We have opened the Ithai Baraj.
03:39We have opened the gates there also.
03:40But there is a capacity which can be absorbed.
03:43So keeping our fingers crossed because now the depression also is going away.
03:46It's weakening.
03:47So just a day or two left.
03:49I think if we can manage it all until then, I think there should not be any problem.
